NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Grossmont Union High School District of San Diego County, California, acting by and through its Governing Board, hereinafter referred to as the DISTRICT will receive up to, but not later than 2:00 o'clock p.m. of the 4th day of February, 2005, sealed bids for the award of a contract for
Bid #2975, Indoor Bleacher Replacement for Santana, El Capitan, Monte Vista, El Cajon, and Helix High Schools.
Bids shall be received in the office of the Director of Purchasing, DISTRICT located at 1100 Murray Drive, El Cajon, CA 92020 and shall be opened and publicly read aloud at the above-stated time and place.
Each bid must conform and be responsive to the contract documents, copies of which are now on file and may be obtained after January 14, 2005, only at the office of the Director of Purchasing, DISTRICT located at 1100 Murray Drive, El Cajon, CA 92020,
A mandatory job walk will be held on Friday, January 28, 2005, at 9:00 a.m. for the purpose of acquainting all prospective bidders with the bid documents and the work site. It is imperative that all bidders attend this job walk. Failure to attend may disqualify the non-attending bidder from the bid.
In order to be eligible for the mandatory job walk, plans and specifications must be picked up no later than Friday, January 28, 2005, 3:30 p.m
Each bid shall be accompanied by the security referred to in the contract documents, the non-collusion affidavit, the list of proposed subcontractors, and all additional documentation required by the Instructions to Bidders.
In contracts involving an expenditure in excess of $25,000, the successful bidder shall file a payment bond issued by an admitted Surety approved to conduct business in the State of California approved by the District in the form set forth in the contract documents.*
The District reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any irregularities or informalities in any bids or in the bidding.
Basis of Award: The lowest bid shall be the lowest total on the base contract.
The Director of Industrial Relations has determined the general prevailing rate of per diem wages in the locality in which this work is to be performed for each craft or type of worker needed to execute the contract which will be awarded to the successful bidder, copies of which are included in the bid documents.
It shall be mandatory upon the Contractor to whom the contract is awarded, and upon any subcontractor under him, to pay not less than the said specified rates to all workers employed by them in the execution of the contract.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Sweetwater Union High School District of San Diego County, California, acting by and through its Governing Board, hereinafter referred to as the District, will receive up to, but not later than 2:00 p.m. of the 10th day of February, 2005, sealed bids for the award of a contract for:
Project: CHULA VISTA HIGH SCHOOL INTERIM HOUSING PHASE A
Description of Work: Infastructure and site work for modular classroom
Completion of Work: All work shall be complete within the contract period of twen ty eight (28) consecutive callendar days from Notice To Proceed
Obtaining Bid Documents: Plans may be obtained after January 13, 2005 at the Printer, Mayer Reprographics, Inc., whose telephone number is 619-295-4112 for a refundable deposit of $100.00 per set, payable to SWEETWATER UNION HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT, company or cashiers checks only (no personal checks or cash will be accepted). For bidders wishing plans to be forwarded to them via UPS, an additional separate non-refundable check, payable to SWEETWATER UNION HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT in the amount of $15.00 per set for shipping and handling will be required. Bidders wishing to pick up documents shall notify the PRINTER and should telephone first to ensure an adequate number of sets are on hand.
Bidders shall return bid sets to the printer in accordance with the following instructions:
The deposit for plans and specifications shall be refundable only upon return of the documents to the printer as complete sets and in good condition (defined as clean, legible, bound in proper sequence, and with nothing missing except the "required bid forms" used in the bid), and within fifteen (15) business days after bid opening. Bidders failing to return these documents as stated above to the PRINTER within the specified time period shall be subject to forfeiture of deposit without further notice.
Bids shall be received in the office of Rudolph and Sletten located at 10955 Vista Sorrento Parkway, Suite 100, San Diego CA 92130 the telephone 858-259-6262, and shall be opened and publicly read aloud at the above-stated time and place.
Each bid must conform and be responsive to the Contract Documents and all plans, specifications and any other documents pertaining to the Project, copies of which are now on file and may be obtained after January 13, 2005 at Mayer Reprographics.
An optional pre-bid meeting has been scheduled for 1:30 p.m., January 20, 2005, to review the Project scope, bid requirements, and the ProjectÕs existing conditions. The pre-bid meeting will take place at Chula Vista High School, 820 4th Ave., Chula Vista, CA 91911. Please call 858-259-6262 to confirm your attendance at this meeting. Representatives of the District, Architect, and consulting engineers will be in attendance to address any questions.
Each bid shall be accompanied by the security referred to in the Contract Documents, the non-collusion affidavit, the list of proposed subcontractors, and all additional documentation required by the Information for Bidders.
The successful bidder will be required to furnish the District with a Performance Bond equal to one hundred percent 100% of the successful bid, and a Payment Bond equal to one hundred percent 100% of the successful bid, prior to execution of the Contract. All bonds are to be secured from a surety company that meets all of the State of California bonding requirements, as defined in Code of Civil Procedure Section 995.120, and is authorized by the State of California, and all documents required by Code of Civil Procedure Section 995.660, to the extent required by law.
In addition, the successful bidder shall be required to obtain a Performance Bond from all subcontractors providing goods and services in excess of $100,000.00. All prime contractors bidding on this Project must specify this requirement regarding subcontractor bonds, in their written or published request for subcontractor bids. Such written or published requests must clearly designate the party that will bear the cost of the bonds. Vendors only supplying materials shall not be required to provide bonds. All subcontractor bonds are to be secured from a surety company that meets all of the State of California bonding requirements, as defined in Code of Civil Procedure Section 995.120, and is authorized by the State of California.
Pursuant to the provisions of Public Contract Code Section 22300, the successful bidder may substitute certain securities for funds withheld by District to ensure his performance under the Contract. At the request and expense of the successful bidder, securities equivalent to any amount withheld shall be deposited at the discretion of District, with either District or a state or federally chartered bank, as the escrow agent, who shall then pay any funds otherwise subject to retention to the successful bidder. Upon satisfactory completion of the Contract, the securities shall be returned to the successful bidder.
Compliance with Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise (DVBE) contracting goals is required for this project. Bidders must make a good faith effort to contract and utilize DVBE subcontractors and suppliers in securing bids for performance of the contract. Bidders shall be required to certify their good faith efforts towards retaining DVBE subcontractors and suppliers and identify DVBE firms utilized in performance of the Contract. Information regarding compliance with DVBE requirements is set forth in the "Information for Bidders."
The District reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any irregularities or informalities in any bids or in the bidding.
The Director of Industrial Relations has determined the general prevailing rate of per diem wages in the locality in which this work is to be performed for each craft or type of worker needed to execute the Contract which will be awarded to the successful bidder, copies of which are on file and will be made available to any interested party upon request at the DistrictÕs Purchasing Office, at the address listed above. A copy of these rates shall be posted at the job site.
In accordance with the provisions of the California Labor Code, contractors or subcontractors may not perform work on a public works project with a subcontractor who is ineligible to perform work on a public project pursuant to Section 1777.1 or Section 1777.7 of the California Labor Code. Any contract on a public works project entered into between a contractor and a debarred subcontractor is void as a matter of law. A debarred subcontractor may not receive any public money for performing work as a subcontractor on a public works contract. Any public money that is paid, or may have been paid to a debarred subcontractor by a contractor on the Project shall be returned to the District. The Contractor shall be responsible for the payment of wages to workers of a debarred subcontractor who has been allowed to work on the Project.
It shall be mandatory upon the bidder to whom the Contract is awarded, and upon any subcontractor under him, to comply with all Labor Code provisions, which include, but are not limited to the payment of not less than the said specified rates to all workers employed by them in the execution of the Contract, employment of apprentices, hours of labor and debarment of contractors and subcontractors.
Each bidder shall be a licensed contractor pursuant to the Business and Professions Code and shall be licensed in the appropriate classification(s) of contractorÕs license(s), for the work bid upon, and must maintain the license throughout the duration of the Contract. The license required for the Project is B or C10.
Pursuant to Public Contract Code Section 3400(b), the District may make a finding that designates certain materials, products, things, or services by specific brand or trade name for the statutorily enumerated purposes. As required by Section 3400(b), the District has made such findings as further described in the Special Conditions. These findings, as well as the materials, products, things, or services and their specific brand or trade names that must be used for the Project may be found in Section N/A of the Special Conditions.
Award of Contract: The District shall award the Contract for the Project to the bidder submitting the lowest bid as determined from the base bid, and is deemed responsible by the District.
No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period ninety (90) calendar days after the date set for the opening of bids.
