NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Palomar Community College District of San Diego County, California, acting by and through its Governing Board, hereinafter referred to as the DISTRICT will receive up to, but not later than 3:00 o'clock p.m., on the 6th day of February, 2008, sealed bids for the award of a contract for

DANCE FLOOR (ROOM D-6)
REPLACEMENT PROJECT
Bids shall be received in the office Contract Services of the DISTRICT located at 1140 W. Mission Road, Room A-10, San Marcos, CA 92069 and shall be opened and publicly read aloud at the above stated time and place.
Each bid must conform and be responsive to the contract documents, copies of which will be available on-line at http://www.palomar.edu/businessservices/Bids.html or by calling Eileen Poole, at (760) 744-1150, extension 2697.
A “non-mandated” job walk will be conducted at Palomar Community College on January 17, 2008, at 10:00 am, at 1140 W Mission Road, Room A-10, San Marcos, CA.
Each bid shall conform and be responsive to the bid specifications and accompanying bid documents. Each bid shall be accompanied by bid security in the form of cash, or cashier's check, certified check, or bidder's bond executed by an admitted surety insurer, and made payable to the Palomar Community College District, in the face amount of Ten Percent (10%) of the Contract Price.
Pursuant to Public Contract Code Section 10126 (c) (2) the District declares that the following method shall be used to determine the lowest, responsive bidder on the project: lowest, total base bid.
All bidders shall be licensed and certified in the State of California as a General Contractor “B” or Flooring & Floor Covering Contractor “C-15”.
The Governing Board has obtained from the Director of the California Department of Industrial Relations a determination of the general prevailing rate of per diem wages and the general prevailing rate for legal holiday and overtime work in the locality in which said work is to be performed for each craft, classification, or type of worker needed. Not less than the determined rates shall be paid to all workers employed in the performance of the contract. Such rates of wages are on the file with the Department of Industrial Relations and in the office of the District and are available to any interested party upon request.
All bidders shall agree to obtain and maintain in full effect all required insurance with limits not less than the amounts indicated. Bidders who fail to comply with the insurance requirements of this contract may have their bids rejected as non-responsive at the election of the District.
The Governing Board of the District reserves the right to select the schedule(s) under which the bids are to be compared and contract(s) awarded, to reject any and all bids, and to waive any and all irregularities or defects in any bid. No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of ninety (90) days after the date set for the opening of bids.

ORANGE LINE SUBSTATION REHABILITATIONS,
FLETCHER TRACTION POWER SUBSTATION PROJECT

The SAN DIEGO ASSOCIATION OF GOVERNMENTS (SANDAG), 401 B Street, Suite 800, San Diego, CA 92101-4231, is requesting bids to perform the work, in general, as follows:  installation of a traction power substation and rehabilitation of three operating stations, including overhead catenary system work, coordination with SDG&E, and miscellaneous civil work. Supplemental work may include substation isolation switch replacement and connection at multiple locations along the Orange Line system. The Engineer’s Estimate is $2,100,000. Bids must be submitted for the entire work. The amount for bid comparison shall be based on the Schedules A+B+C+D (total bid). SANDAG reserves the right to award Schedule A only or any combination of schedules. A prebid meeting will be held on Wednesday, January 16, 2008, at 2:30 p.m. at SANDAG.   The IFB package (plans, specifications, and bid forms) may be secured only at SANDAG at the above address, attention: Louise Torio, at a cost of $35. Make your check payable to SANDAG. If shipping is requested, you must furnish your firm’s FedEx account number against which shipment is to be arranged. Ask for the Orange Line Substation Project (LRT-1142100) IFB package. IFB packages may be reviewed at SANDAG and/or the Contracting Opportunities Center (619?285?7020) located at 4007 Camino Del Rio South, Suite 210, San Diego, CA.
  Bids must be received by 2:30 p.m., on Wednesday, January 30, 2008, at SANDAG, on the 7th Floor, attention: Louise Torio. Bids arriving later than 2:30 p.m., or at a location other than 401 B Street, 7th Floor, will not be considered.
