NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that it is the intention of the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Diego to sell on behalf of said County, a vacant land parcel located in Spring Valley, California described as follows:

Approximately 0.23 acres of vacant land located at Harness Street and Sweetwater Road in Spring Valley. The County-owned parcel is on the north side of Harness Street adjacent to County Assessor's Parcel number 578-102-14, the parcel is further identified as County Parcel 2013-0072-A.

The Purchase and Sale Agreement and the full legal description and plat of the property are on file and available for inspection at the Real Estate Services Division of the Department of General Services, 5560 Overland Avenue, Suite 410, San Diego, California 92123.

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that sealed bids will be received as follows:

1. The Bid opening will be held at 9:00 a.m. on February 5, 2014 in the Chamber of the Board of Supervisors, County Administration Center, 1600 Pacific Highway, Room 310, San Diego, California.

2. The minimum bid for the property is as follows:

Parcel 2013-0072-A $35,000, plus closing costs

3. A Security Deposit of $10,000 for the property in the form of a Cashier's Check or a Bank Money Order made payable to the County of San Diego.

4. Sealed written bids must be submitted on a form provided by the Chief, Real Estate Services Division, Department of General Services, and the upper left-hand side of the envelope containing the bid must be signed by the bidder. Sealed bids will be received at the office of the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors in Room 402 of the County Administration Center, 1600 Pacific Highway, San Diego until 9:00 a.m. on February 5, 2014.

DESCRIPTION: The applicant is requesting historic designation of the Merriam House and associated landscaping that are associated with Major Gustavus French Merriam and Florence Agusta Merriam, both of whom have made contributions to the history of San Diego County, and for the architectural style (Folk Victorian) in which the structure was designed and constructed in 1889. The Merriam House is located at 555 Deer Springs Road, North County Metro Subregional Plan Area (Twin Oaks), Unincorporated San Diego County.
