NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Planning Commission of the County of San Diego will conduct public hearings on General Plan 2020. The first session is scheduled as follows:

Community Map Reviews for January 31 will occur in the following order: Palomar/North Mountain, Desert/Borrego Springs, Julian, Central Mountain (Cuyamaca, Pine Valley, and Descanso), and Mountain Empire (Jacumba, Boulevard, Lake Morena/Campo, and Potrero). All communities not reviewed on the first day will be discussed at future Planning Commission public hearings, and schedules will be provided through public mailings and the following information sources:

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: General Plan 2020 is a comprehensive update of the San Diego County General Plan, establishing future growth and development patterns for the unincorporated area of the County. The purpose of these hearings is to receive direction from the Planning Commission regarding the Concepts, Land Use Framework, Draft Goals and Policies, Population, Regional Map, and Equity Mechanisms. Another purpose is to receive direction from the Planning Commission on the distribution of residential land use within the unincorporated County through a community map review process.
AGENDA: In the morning, staff will provide a project overview designed to update the Planning Commission on the status of the project. Steering Committee, Interest Group and Planning/Sponsor Group comments will begin at the conclusion of staff?s presentation. Public comments will follow and will focus on the overall plan, not on specific community plans or properties. The Planning Commission will then comment and possibly provide further recommendations or direction.
The afternoon session will consist of a community-by-community review. Each community or subregion review will include a question and answer session with the Planning Commission as well as Steering Committee, Interest Group, and Planning/Sponsor Group comments. Public testimony will begin at approximately 3:30 p.m. At the conclusion of public testimony, the Planning Commission will again make comments and possibly provide further recommendations or direction.
ENVIRONMENTAL STATUS: A Notice of Preparation of a Draft Environmental Impact Report has been prepared for this project and is on file at the 5201 Ruffin Road, San Diego, California 92123.
GENERAL INFORMATION: This public hearing is accessible to individuals with disabilities. If interpreter services for the hearing impaired are needed, please call the hearing secretary at (858) 694-3816, or California Relay Service, if notifying by TDD, no later than seven days prior to the date of the hearing.
NOTE: If you challenge the action which may be taken on this proposal in court, you may be limited to raising only those issues you or someone else raised at the above public hearing, or in written correspondence delivered to the Hearing Body at or before the hearing. PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The application proposes a major subdivision of 2.85 gross acres into 11 residential lots ranging in size from 6,008 to 10,365 net square feet and a .94-acre Designated Remainder Lot. The project site is subject to the (8) Residential Land Use Designation of the General Plan, which permits a density of 14.5 dwelling units per acre.
