Notice is hereby given that the Board of Education of the Santee School District, Santee, CA, acting by and through its governing board, will receive sealed bids for the furnishing of all labor, materials, transportation, equipment, and services for the CENTRAL KITCHEN BUILDING REPAIRS & ROOFING/FLASHING PROJECT in the Central Kitchen Facility. Value of contract is estimated between $100,000 - $150,000.

Each bidder shall be a licensed contractor pursuant to the Business and Professional Code and shall have a class B1 license.

OBTAINING BID DOCUMENTS: Prospective bidders may secure a set of bid documents as of January 18, 2012, for the Project at Mayer Reprographics, 1065 University Avenue, San Diego, CA 92103. Order form and information is available at; click on Current Projects Bidding. A $50.00 refundable deposit is required for each set of bid documents.
A MANDATORY INSPECTION TOUR of the project will be held on Thursday, January 26, 2012, 2:00 p.m. at Santee School District, 9880 Riverwalk Drive, Santee, CA 92071. Each and every Bidder MUST attend the Inspection Tour. Prospective bidders MAY NOT visit the Project Site without making arrangements through the District’s representative. Bids WILL NOT be accepted from any bidder who did not attend the Inspection Tour. All bids will be received by the Santee School District Director of Maintenance, Operations, & Facilities at 9880 Riverwalk Drive, Santee, CA, 92071, up to, but no later than, 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 2, 2012, at which time bids will be opened and publicly read aloud.
WAGES: The Director of the Department of Industrial Relations has determined the general prevailing rate of per diem wages in the locality in which this public work is to be performed for each craft, classification, or type of worker needed to execute the contract, which can be obtained at

Each bid shall be submitted on the bid form provided in the bid documents. Each bid shall be accompanied by a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the bidder and surety company, or certified check, or cashier's check in favor of the Santee School District, or cash, in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the bid. Said Bid Bond shall be given to guarantee that the bidder will execute the contract as specified, within five (5) working days after the notification of the award of the contract to bidder.

The District reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any irregularities or informalities in any bids or in the bidding. No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of 45 days after the date set for the opening of bids.

Bids must be accompanied by cash, a certified or cashier's check, or a Bid Bond in favor of the District in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the submitted Total Bid Price. Each proposal shall conform and be responsive to the Contract Documents, and be accompanied by the non-collusion affidavit, the list of proposed subcontractors, and all additional documentation required by the contract documents.
Proposer and all subcontractors are required to hold valid business licenses that may be required by the State of California, the County of San Diego, and local ordinances, as appropriate. Proposer is required to possess and provide evidence of E-Rate Service Provider Identification Number (SPIN) and FCC Green Light Status. All proposers must be a certified partner of designated equipment manufacturer proposed and include proof of current partnership with manufacturer.

Minority, women, and disabled veteran (DVBE) contractors are encouraged to submit proposals and Bidders are encouraged to make a good faith effort to contact and utilize DVBE subcontractors and suppliers, providing documentation with their proposal.
Award of Contract: The District reserves the right to reject any or all proposals or to waive any irregularities or informalities in any proposals or in the bidding process. Proposals shall be valid for 90 days. Once awarded the pricing shall be valid for the term of the contract, July 1, 2012-June 30, 2013. The District may or may not proceed with the project, regardless of E-Rate funding status.
