Membership on the Independent
Taxpayer Oversight Committee
The San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG) is seeking qualified members of the public to aid in the implementation of the $14 billion TransNet program, to help fund transportation improvements throughout the region. As outlined in the TransNet Ordinance and Expenditure Plan, the Independent Taxpayer Oversight Committee (ITOC) will provide an increased level of accountability for expenditures. The ITOC will function in an independent, open, and transparent manner to ensure that all voter mandates are carried out as required in the Ordinance and Expenditure Plan, and to develop positive, constructive recommendations for improvements and enhancements to the financial integrity and performance of the TransNet program. Membership will be limited to seven people from throughout the region, and will be based on a specific set of professional skills and experience. Applications are due (and must be postmarked) no later than February 25, 2005.
