NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of San Diego will receive bids for work at the Purchasing and Contracting Department, Contracts Division, 1200 Third Avenue, Suite 200, San Diego, California, where bids are to be submitted prior to time specified.  Plans and specifications can be obtained from The City of San Diego’s website: http://www.sandiego.gov/bids-contracts. A pre-bid meeting and/or pre-bid visit to the work site will be held, if indicated, at the time and place specified in the contract documents.  Prospective bidders are encouraged to attend these sessions.

As a property owner, tenant or person who has requested notice, you should know that the Planning Commission will hold a public hearing to recommend approval, conditional approval, or denial to the City Council of a Utility Easement Vacation, Planned Development Permit, Variance, Site Development Permit, and a Neighborhood Development Permit, to allow deviations to the development regulations and the construction of a 4-story apartment building with 50 dwelling units over 2-levels of subterranean parking with approximately 800 square feet of commercial retail space at the ground level on a 0.68-acre vacant site. As a property owner, tenant, or person who has requested notice, you should know that the Planning Commission will hold a public hearing to recommend approval, conditional approval, or denial to the City Council of amendments to the Municipal Code (Chapter 6, Article 7, Division 1; Chapter 6, Article 7, Division 6; Chapter 14, Article 7, Division 4). The amendments are proposed to require the installation of water submeters in new multiple-dwelling unit and mixed-use development, as well as in existing multiple-dwelling unit and mixed-use development meeting specific criteria, in order to promote and increase water conservation. The amendments are subject to Process 5.

The amendments to the Municipal Code are intended to promote water conservation by residents of multiple-dwelling unit and mixed-use buildings. The requirements apply to new development; and to certain existing development. The criteria for existing development are related to the amount of interior potable water supply piping replaced and whether the existing development is built pursuant to 1998 CA Plumbing Code or subsequent version and has only one cold water connection and one hot water connection serving each individual unit.

The decision to approve, conditionally approve, modify or deny the amendments to the Municipal Code will be made by the City Council at a future public hearing. A separate notice of public hearing will be provided 10 business days prior to the City Council hearing for this item.
