NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Cajon Valley Union School District of San Diego County, California, acting by and through its Governing Board, hereinafter referred to as the DISTRICT will receive up to, but not later than two o'clock p.m. of the 31st day of October, 2003, sealed bids for the award of a contract for

W.D. Hall Elementary School,
Security Fencing.

Bids shall be received in the PURCHASING OFFICE OF CAJON VALLEY UNION SCHOOL DISTRICT located at 535 Vernon Way, El Cajon, CA 92020 and shall be opened and publicly read aloud at the above stated time and place.
A job walk will be held on Friday, October 24, 2003 at 9:00 a.m. at W.D. Hall Elementary School, 1376 Pepper Drive, El Cajon, CA 92021 for the purpose of acquainting all prospective bidders with the bid documents and the work site. It is imperative that all bidders attend this job walk.

Each bid must conform and be responsive to the contract documents, copies of which may be obtained after October 15, 2003, at the Purchasing Department, 535 Vernon Way, El Cajon, CA 92020.
Each bid shall be accompanied by the security referred to in the contract documents, the non-collusion affidavit, the list of proposed subcontractors, and all additional documentation required by the Instructions to Bidders.
Cajon Valley Union School District will require a payment bond issued by an admitted Surety approved to conduct business in the State of California in the form set forth in the contract documents from the successful bidder regardless of the contract amount.
The District reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any irregularities or informalities in any bids or in the bidding.
The Director of Industrial Relations has determined the general prevailing rate of per diem wages in the locality in which this work is to be performed for each craft or type of worker needed to execute the contract which will be awarded to the successful bidder. Prevailing Wage Determinators are available on the internet under the Director of Industrial Relations website:
It shall be mandatory upon the Contractor to whom the contract is awarded, and upon any subcontractor under him, to pay not less than the said specified rates to all workers employed by them in the execution of the contract.
Minority, women, and disabled veteran contractors are encouraged to submit bids. [This bid is not subject to Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise requirements.]
This contract is not subject to a labor compliance program, as described in subdivision (b)of Section 1771.5 of the Labor Code.
Each bidder shall be a licensed contractor pursuant to the Business and Professions Code and shall be licensed in one of the following classifications: C-13 FENCING CONTRACTOR
No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of sixty (60) days after the set for the opening of bids.

The City Council of the City of National City invites sealed bids for performing the Division Street/R Avenue Traffic Signal Improvements, Specification No. 02-1.
The project includes the construction and installation of the traffic signals at Division Street and R Avenue in accordance with these plans and specifications including but not limited to installation of signal standards, masts, signal heads and luminaries, pedestrian signals and push buttons, controller, aluminum cabinet and foundation, conduit, wiring, and pull boxes, pedestrian barricades and signs, traffic striping, removal and replacement of 1,750 square feet of 3" of asphalt on 8" of base and restoration of all disturbed surface improvements.
All sealed bid proposals must be received by the Office of the City Clerk located in City Hall, 1243 National City Boulevard, National City, California, 91950, prior to the bid closing time of 3:00 PM, Tuesday, November 11, 2003. Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud in the 2nd floor, Large Conference Room, in the City Hall immediately following the bid closing time.
The project documents include the Standard Specifications for Public Works Construction, 1997 Edition, (Greenbook - including the San Diego supplements), the San Diego Regional Standard Drawings, 1997 Edition, and these contract documents. The Contract Documents may be inspected in the office of the City Engineer, located in City Hall at 1243 National City Boulevard, National City, California, 91950, Telephone Number (619) 336-4380, Fax Number (619) 336-4397. Copies may be obtained at that location upon payment of a non-refundable fee of $10 for each set. (Includes project plans and these contract documents, but does not include the Greenbook or San Diego Regional Standard Drawings.)
In accordance with the California Labor Code, the Contractor must pay not less than prevailing wage rates as determined by the Director of Industrial Relations for all work done under this contract. A copy of the current prevailing wage rate schedule is available for inspection in the office of the City Engineer.
Bidders must possess a current State of California "Class A General Engineering" or the appropriate "Class C" Contractor's License.
The Engineer's cost estimate for the Base Bid Items is $110,000.
