NOTICE OF PROPOSED
COASTAL DEVELOPMENT PERMIT AMENDMENT & PUBLIC HEARING
for the Pier 32 National City Marina Project
Notice is hereby given that the San Diego Unified Port District (District) has prepared a draft Coastal Development Permit Amendment
Pier 32 Marina Group, LLC Project:
Pier 32 National City Marina Project Location:
Marina Way and 32nd Street;
National City, California
On April 4, 2006, by Resolution No. 2006-65, the Board of Port Commissioners (BPC) authorized issuance of an appealable Coastal Development Permit (CDP 2006-02) for the subject project. The project included development of a recreational boat marina, marina buildings, parking, freestanding locker/shower facility, landscaping, and associated amenities. The Applicant has requested an amendment to the appealable Coastal Development Permit (CDP) which would allow the addition of a swimming pool area, putting green, nautical flag pole, and perimeter security fence with multiple pass-through openings. The draft Amendment describes these proposed additions and includes new Special Conditions to address coastal resources and public access. The Executive Director has determined that the draft Amendment is an immaterial change to the permit because the Amendment would not have the potential for adverse impacts, either individually or cumulatively, on coastal resources or public access to and along the shoreline, and is consistent with the certified Port Master Plan.
The Amendment will be considered at a public hearing at the Tuesday, November 4, 2008 BPC meeting at the Port Administration Building, 3165 Pacific Highway, San Diego, CA 92101 commencing at 1:00 p.m. Written objections to the draft CDP Amendment should be submitted by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, November 3, 2008 to Darlene Nicandro, Senior Redevelopment Planner, at the San Diego Unified Port District, Land Use Planning Department, P.O. Box 120488, San Diego, CA 92112-0488. To review a copy of the CDP, draft CDP Amendment, or Port Master Plan, please call the District's Land Use Planning Department at (619) 686-6283.
