The San Diego Unified School District will receive sealed bids for furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, transportation, and services for:
ELECTRICAL AND TECHNOLOGY UPGRADES AT CARVER
ELEMENTARY SCHOOL.
Mandatory site visit is scheduled for November 17, 2006, starting at 9:00 a.m., at Carver Elementary School, 3251 Juanita Street, San Diego, CA 92105. This project requires AMP products only for the technology portion. The site currently has AMP products installed and requires any new installations to match existing to maintain the warranty and continuity throughout the site.

Bids will be received by the District at the Maintenance and Operations Center, 4860 Ruffner Street, San Diego, California 92111, on December 1, 2006, at 2:00 p.m., at which time the bids will be opened and publicly read aloud. Each bid shall be in accordance with specifications, plans, and other contract documents now on file at the Contracts Management Office. Each bid shall be submitted on a bid form furnished by the District. Bid forms and other pertinent documents may be obtained from Universal Reprographics, 1747 Hancock Street, Suite E, San Diego, CA 92101 telephone number (619) 295-7882, beginning November 7, 2006. A deposit of $50.00 for each bid set is required. Checks for deposit will be required, made payable to the San Diego Unified School District. This deposit is refundable according to the conditions outlined in the bid documents.

Bidders are hereby notified that pursuant to the statutes of the State of California, the director of the Department of Industrial Relations has determined the general prevailing rate of per diem wages in the locality in which this type of work is to be performed for each craft or type of worker needed to execute the contract which will be awarded to the successful bidder.
It shall be mandatory upon the contractor to whom this contract is awarded and upon any subcontractor under him to pay not less than the said specified rates to all laborers, workmen, and mechanics employed by them in the execution of the contract.
The San Diego Unified School District reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to accept or reject any one or more items of any bid, or to waive any irregularities, or informalities in the bids, or in the bidding.
Attention is called to the fact that a list of proposed subcontractors must be submitted with the bid.
No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of ninety (90) days after the date and time set for the opening of bids.

Notice is hereby given that the Board of Education of the San Diego Unified School District, acting by and through its governing board, will receive sealed bids for the furnishing of all labor, materials, transportation, equipment, and services for Portable Building Renovations for DSA Certification at Mason Elementary School. Construction cost estimate is approx. $1.8 Million Dollars.
As a condition of bidding and in accordance with the provision of Section 20111.5 of the California Public Code, the district is requiring prequalification of all general contractors wishing to submit bids on this project. Bidders must prequalify at a minimum of $1.8 Million dollars. Bids will not be accepted if an approved contractor's statement meeting the minimum qualifications for this job is not on file with the district.
Prospective bidders are required to submit a completed prequalification questionnaire supplied by the district. Prequalification packages are now available at the Contracts Management Office, 4860 Ruffner Street, San Diego, CA 92111 or email barcher@sandi.net. Prequalification packages are due on or before November 27, 2006.
Each bidder shall be a licensed contractor pursuant to the Business and Professional Code and shall be licensed in the following classification: B.
Each bid must conform and be responsive to the contract documents. Copies of the documents may be obtained at Universal Reprographics, 1747 Hancock Street, Suite E, San Diego, CA 92101 telephone number (619) 295-7882, beginning November 7, 2006 by depositing $100 for each set. Checks for deposit will be required, made payable to the San Diego Unified School District. This deposit is refundable according to the conditions outlined in the bid documents.
A site visit will be held as follows: November 16, 2006 at 9:00 a.m. Meet at the school main entrance, Mason Elementary School, 10340 San Ramon Drive, San Diego, CA 92126. This site visit is mandatory and should a bidder not attend, they will not be allowed to bid, as it is a material requirement of the contract.
All bids will be received by Maintenance and Operations, Contract Management Office, at 4860 Ruffner Street, San Diego, CA, 92111, up to, but no later than, 2:00 p.m. on November 30, 2006 which time bids will be opened and publicly read aloud.
LABOR COMPLIANCE NOTICE: San Diego Unified School District operates an Initially Approved Labor Compliance Program. Under this program the District, in part, will review and audit payroll records to verify compliance with labor laws and shall have the right to withhold payments and enforce penalties for non-compliance. WAGES: The Director of the Department of Industrial Relations has determined the general prevailing rate of per diem wages in the locality in which this public work is to be performed for each craft, classification, or type of worker needed to execute the contract. Copies of that determination are available at the District's Labor Compliance Office for interested parties upon request.
Each bid shall be submitted on the bid form provided in the bid documents. Each bid shall be accompanied by a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the bidder and Surety Company, or certified check, or cashier's check in favor of the San Diego Unified School District, or cash, in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the bid. Said Bid Bond shall be given to guarantee that the bidder will execute the contract as specified, within three (3) working days after the notification of the award of the contract to bidder.
The District reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any irregularities or informalities in any bids or in the bidding.
