NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the San Marcos Unified School District (“District”) is seeking sealed bids from qualified general contractors for construction of the following public-works project (“Project”): Carrillo Elementary School 2013: Classroom Modifications, Bid#2013-28.

PLACE FOR SUBMITTING BIDS: Bids must be submitted to the District at the following location (“Place for Submitting Bids”): North County Regional Education Center, 255 Pico Avenue, Suite 250, San Marcos, CA 92069.

BID DEADLINE:
Bids must be received at the Place for Submitting Bids not later than Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. (“Bid Deadline”), at which time the District will publicly open and read all bids. The District shall return, unopened, each bid received after the Bid Deadline.

BID DOCUMENTS: Bidders may obtain a copy of the Contract Documents as follows: (1) Contact Mayer Reprographics online at www.mayer.com; please do not call; (2) Select “Projects bidding” and choose the folder for this project. This folder contains information about how to order plans and specifications, receive a plan holder's list, project addendums (if applicable), and other pertinent project information for the duration of the bidding process. Purchase of the Contract Documents at Mayer Reprographics will also allow plan holder to be notified in the event an addendum is issued. The District will also make the Contract Documents available for review at San Diego Daily Transcript.

REQUIRED BID SECURITY:
Each bid must be submitted with security in an amount equal to 10% of the maximum bid, in one of the following forms: (i) a cashier's or certified check payable to the District; or (ii) a bid bond. The security must be submitted with a completed copy of the “Bid Security” form included as one of the Required Bidding Forms. Each bid bond must be an executed copy of the “Bid Bond” form included as one of the Required Bidding Forms and must be issued by a California-admitted surety as defined in Code of Civil Procedure Section 995.120. Unless forfeited, the District will return security to the bidders within a reasonable time, but not more than sixty days after award of the Contract for the Work.

CONTRACTOR LICENSE: The class of California contractor license required to bid on and perform the Work is a Class B, General Contractor license.

MANDATORY PRE-BID CONFERENCE: The District will conduct a pre-bid conference and site visit on November 18, 2013, at 1:30 pm, and will initially commence at: Carrillo Elementary School Administration building, 2875 Poinsettia Lane, Carlsbad, CA 92009. Attendance at the pre-bid conference and site visit is mandatory, and any bidder that does not attend shall be deemed non-responsive.

AWARD OF CONTRACT: The award of the Contract will be based on the following method of determining the lowest bid: Bid will be bid on base bid alone.

PROBABLY COST OF CONSTRUCTION: $100,000

SCOPE OF CONSTRUCTION: Restroom addition in two (2) existing relocatable classroom buildings; includes plumbing, electrical, low voltage, flooring and site accessibility upgrades of path of travel and restroom upgrades.


SURETY BONDS: The successful bidder must provide a Performance Bond and a separate Payment Bond, in the forms included as Required Contract Forms, each in an amount equal to 100% of the total Contract Price, and each issued by a California-admitted surety as defined in Code of Civil Procedure Section 995.120.

LABOR LAW: Each worker on the Project must be paid not less than the applicable prevailing rates of per-diem wages in the locality in which the Work is to be performed for each craft or type of worker needed to execute the Contract (“Prevailing Wages”). A copy of the applicable rates of Prevailing Wages is on file and available for review at the Place for Submitting Bids, and a copy will be posted at the Project Site. If so specified in Section 13 of the Special Provisions, the Work will be subject to monitoring by the California Department of Industrial Relations (“DIR”) and/or the Compliance Monitoring Unit of the DIR (“CMU”). If so specified in Section 14 of the Special Provisions, the District will conduct a mandatory conference for the purpose of describing labor-law requirements.

RETENTION: Substitution of securities in lieu of retention, pursuant to Public Contract Code Section 22300, will be permitted as provided in the General Provisions.

DEFINED TERMS: Capitalized terms used, but not defined, in this Notice Inviting Bids shall have the meanings ascribed to such terms in other of the Bid Documents.

Invites Qualified Firms to Submit Statements of Qualifications For

“ACCESS COMPLIANCE SERVICES” FOR
PROPOSED INFILL PROJECTS - LEVEL II DORM FACILITIES

RFQ NO. PMB201309

The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) is requesting Statements of Qualifications from Qualified Firm(s) and/or individuals interested in providing Access Compliance Services for the Proposed Infill Projects - Level II Dorm Facilities.

CDCR anticipates that the Proposed Infill Projects will be designed as a single 792-Bed Facility at an estimated construction cost of $168 million at RJD and a complex consisting of a double 792-Bed (1,584-Bed total) Facility at an estimated construction cost of $344 million at MCSP.

Each Proposed Infill Level II Dorm Facility will be enclosed within a lethal electrified fence security perimeter. The New Infill Level II Dorm Facilities will be sited adjacent to the existing prisons and designed to house general population inmates that may require, as determined by the medical classification system, intermediate level medical care. Accordingly, the facilities will be designed to comply with requirements from the following CDCR litigations including: Coleman (mental health), Plata (health care), Armstrong (ADA), and Perez (dental care).

The Proposed Infill Project(s) will be delivered using the “Design-Build” (DB) method of delivery.

has a program in response to the great need voiced by low-income homeowners, seniors, people with disabilities and veterans, who are residents of The City of San Diego, and need to replace their roofs. This program is being made possible with the support of CDBG Funding from The City of San Diego and HUD. The funding for this funding cycle is $150,000.00

Rebuilding Together San Diego is soliciting proposals from businesses for ROOF REPLACEMENT-2013-14. A summary of work is contained in the Scope of Work section of the Request for Proposals. The San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG) is seeking to add up to 3 additional Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) to its San Diego Forward CBO Outreach Partner Network to facilitate timely and meaningful involvement from Communities of Concern in the development of the SANDAG Regional Plan, which will combine the Regional Transportation Plan and the Regional Comprehensive Plan and is scheduled for adoption in 2015.
