NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that San Dieguito Union High School District of San Diego County, California, acting by and through its Governing Board, hereinafter referred to as the DISTRICT will receive up to, but not later than 2:00:00 o'clock p.m. of the 22nd day of November, 2013, sealed bids for the award of a contract or contracts consisting of the following Bid Package (the “Bid Package”), will be awarded:

CB2014-06 PERIMETER RESTORATION AT CANYON CREST ACADEMY

Bids shall be received in the office of the Facilities Planning and Construction; SAN DIEGUITO UNION HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT located at 684 Requeza Street, Encinitas, CA 92024 and shall be opened and publicly read aloud at the above stated time and place.

A pre-bid conference will be held on November 18, 2013 at 1:00pm for the purpose of acquainting all prospective bidders with the bid documents and the work site. The pre-bid meeting will begin at the student parking lot (southwest corner) behind the school located at Canyon Crest Academy, 5951 Village Center Loop Rd. San Diego, CA 92130. It is highly recommended that all bidders attend the pre-bid conference
Each bid must conform and be responsive to the contract documents, copies of which are now on file and may be obtained after November 8, 2013. PLANS MAY BE OBTAINED by contacting Dave Tomaino (david.tomaino@sduhsd.net); Bid Documents will be available electronically ONLY. Bidders are responsible for their own printing costs should they chose to print at their own discretion.

Each bid shall be accompanied by the security referred to in the contract documents, the non-collusion affidavit, the list of proposed subcontractors, and all additional documentation required by the Instructions to Bidders.

In contracts involving an expenditure in excess of $25,000.00, the successful bidder shall file a payment bond issued by an admitted Surety approved to conduct business in the State of California approved by the District in the form set forth in the contract documents.

The District reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any irregularities or informalities in any bids or in the bidding.

The Director of Industrial Relations has determined the general prevailing rate of per diem wages in the locality in which this work is to be performed for each craft or type of worker needed to execute the contract which will be awarded to the successful bidder. The prevailing rate of per diem wages as determined by the State Director of Industrial Relations are AVAILABLE ON THE INTERNET at the World Wide Website of the State Department of Industrial Relations at www.dir.ca.gov under Statistics and Research.

It shall be mandatory upon the Contractor to whom the contract is awarded, and upon any subcontractor under him, to pay not less than the said specified rates to all workers employed by them in the execution of the contract.

This contract is not subject to a labor compliance program, as described in subdivision (b) of Section 1771.5 of the Labor Code.

Each bidder shall be a licensed contractor pursuant to the Business and Professions Code and shall be licensed in the following classification: Class C27, Landscaping license.

No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of sixty (60 ) days after the date
set for the opening of bids.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that San Diego County Superintendent of Schools of San Diego County, California, hereinafter referred to as SDCOE, will receive up to, but not later than 10:00 AM, December 6, 2013, sealed bids for the award of a contract(s) for:

CHILLED WATER COIL REPLACEMENT

Bids shall be received in the office of the Purchasing/Contracts Supervisor, Building 5, Room503, San Diego County Office of Education, 6401 Linda Vista Road, San Diego, CA 92111. Bids will be opened on this day and hour with a recap of submitted pricing being available at a later date. Bids received after this time will be returned unopened. Parking is limited so plan accordingly. Oral, telephone, facsimile, or electronic submission of bids will not be accepted.

Each bid must conform and be responsive to this invitation, Bid Securities, (Bid, Payment and Performance Bonds), Contract Documents and all plans, specifications and any other documents comprising the pertinent Contract Documents, copies of which are now on file and may be obtained after November 8, 2013 via email bids@sdcoe.net or at the Purchasing/Contract Supervisor office, SDCOE.

All Bidding Questions and Requests for Clarification of the bidding process will only be accepted in writing via e-mail to ATTN: Kimberly Hayes bids@sdcoe.net . The subject line of the email should reference the SDCOE solicitation number “1314-006”. Questions for technical specifications and equipment will be directed to the appropriate SDCOE personnel. Questions must be received a minimum of seven (7) days prior to bid opening.

INTERESTED BIDDERS SHOULD MEET IN BUILDING 5, 5OOM 503 AND WAIT FOR THE PROJECT SUPERVISOR TO TAKE THEM TO THE WORK SITE. Bring and review your bid documents. Failure to attend the pre-bid meeting will cause your bid to be rejected as nonresponsive.

SDCOE reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any irregularities or informalities in any bids or in the bidding process, and to judge the merit and qualifications of the bidder and of the equipment offered.

PREQUALIFICATION OF GENERAL AND MEP CONTRACTORS

The Grossmont Union High School District has elected to become subject to the California Uniform Public Construction Cost Accounting Procedures. The District is inviting all licensed contractors to submit information for inclusion on the District's list of “qualified” bidders for the 2014 calendar year.

This notice requires contractors to provide the following information. Registration forms are available at http://portal.guhsd.net/GUHSD/depts/busserv/purchasing NOTE: Registering with a district does not satisfy the prequalification requirements under PCC 20111.6.

1) Company name
2) Contact name and mailing address
3) Contact phone number, fax number, and email address
4) Type of work contractor is interested in performing
5) Type of work contractor is licensed to perform
6) Contractor's license class and number

Prequalification:
In addition to registering with the District, all General Contractors (A and B), Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing Contractors (C-4, C-7, C-10, C-16, C-20, C-34, C-36, C-38, C-42, C-43, and C-46) need to complete the prequalification application in order to be eligible to work on projects in excess of $1 million dollars. Effective December 1, 2013, the link for the application may be found at the above mentioned web address.

The Grossmont Union High School District may create a new contractors list effective January 1st of each year and may include any contractor's name it desires on the contractors list, but must include, at a minimum, all contractors who have properly provided the School District with the required information, either during the calendar year in which the list is valid or during November or December of the prior year. The list will automatically include all contractors who submitted one or more bids to the School District during the preceding calendar year. Rebuilding Together San Diego
has a program in response to the great need voiced by low-income homeowners, seniors, people with disabilities and veterans, who are residents of The City of San Diego, and need to replace their roofs. This program is being made possible with the support of CDBG Funding from The City of San Diego and HUD. The funding for this funding cycle is $150,000.00

Rebuilding Together San Diego is soliciting proposals from businesses for ROOF REPLACEMENT-2013-14. A summary of work is contained in the Scope of Work section of the Request for Proposals. Interested and qualified firms including Section 3, MBE, WBE, DVBE, are invited to submit a proposal. An electronic copy of the solicitation packages with complete instructions is available. Simon Wong Engineering is requesting a Statement of Qualifications from qualified DVBE and DBE subconsultants for the County of San Diego's FHWA As-Needed Construction Management Services project (RFSQ 6235). Subcontracting opportunities include Construction Management, Inspection, Engineering, Administration, Constructability Reviews, Scheduling and Claims Support, and SWPPP Support Services.
