ATTENTION

PROPER DISPOSAL OF FLUORESCENT LIGHT BULBS

As of 2006 small businesses in California are required to properly dispose of batteries, fluorescent lights, thermostats and small electronics. These products must be separated from the regular trash and recycling bins and must be collected for safe disposal. All fluorescent lamps and tubes are considered hazardous waste when they are discarded because they contain mercury. Special care is needed in removing and boxing fluorescent light bulbs to prevent breakage and avoid releasing mercury that contaminates the environment. We are responsible for knowing about and obeying applicable Hazardous Waste Laws.

Unlawful storage, transportation or disposal of hazardous materials is
punishable by imprisonment in the San Diego County Jail or State
Prison, and/or a fine of $25,000 or more per violation
