NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING PLANNING COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION
The Planning Commission will hold a public hearing to recommend approval, conditional approval, or denial of the General Plan Action Plan. The public hearing will be held on December 4, 2008.
The General Plan Action Plan (Action Plan) is a companion document to the recently adopted City of San Diego General Plan. The Action Plan is a comprehensive work program to guide implementation of the General Plan. State law requires that a city make recommendations to the legislative body on general plan implementation after the adoption of a general plan.
The Action Plan is organized to correlate with the Elements of the General Plan and links General Plan policies to specific implementation measures. The Action Plan identifies short-term, mid-term, long-term and ongoing implementation actions within a ten-year timeframe, although the rate at which implementation will occur is dependent on the City budget process.
The preparation of the Action Plan was anticipated at the time of the General Plan Update and is covered under the Program Environment Impact Report No. 104495 prepared for the General Plan and certified on March 10, 2008
The Draft Action Plan is available for public review at http://www.sandiego.gov/planning/genplan/index.shtml
or at the office of the City Planning & Community Investment Department at 202 C. Street, 4th Floor, San Diego, CA 92101.
The decision to approve, conditionally approve, modify or deny the Action Plan will be made by the City Council at a future public hearing. A separate notice of the City Council public hearing will be sent and posted. If you have any questions after reviewing this information, you can contact the City Project Manager listed above.
This information will be made available in alternative formats upon request.
