Bids will be received by the District at the Physical Plant Operations Center, 4860 Ruffner Street, San Diego, California 92111, on December 9, 2008, at 2:00 p.m., at which time the bids will be opened and publicly read aloud. Each bid shall be in accordance with the contract documents now on file at the Contracts Management Office. Each bid shall be submitted on a bid form furnished by the District. The bid forms and other pertinent documents may be obtained from Physical Plant Operations Center, 4860 Ruffner Street, San Diego, CA 92111, Room 9, beginning November 12, 2008. Bid documents will not be faxed.
Bidders are hereby notified that pursuant to the statutes of the State of California, the director of the Department of Industrial Relations has determined the general prevailing rate of per diem wages in the locality in which this type of work is to be performed for each craft or type of worker needed to execute the contract which will be awarded to the successful bidder.
It shall be mandatory upon the contractor to whom this contract is awarded and upon any subcontractor under him to pay not less than the said specified rates to all laborers, workmen, and mechanics employed by them in the execution of the contract.
LABOR COMPLIANCE NOTICE: San Diego Unified School District operates an Approved Labor Compliance Program. Under this program the District, in part, will review and audit payroll records to verify compliance with labor laws and shall have the right to withhold payments and enforce penalties for non-compliance. The San Diego Unified School District reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to accept or reject any one or more items of any bid, or to waive any irregularities, or informalities in the bids, or in the bidding.
Attention is called to the fact that a list of proposed subcontractors must be submitted with the bid.
No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of ninety (90) days after the date and time set for the opening of bids.
