NOTICE OF INTENT
MITIGATED NEGATIVE DECLARATION
A draft Mitigated Negative Declaration has been prepared by the San Diego Community College District (District) for the project listed below:
SUBJECT: Mesa College East Entry and Parking Garage. SAN DIEGO COMMUNI TY COLLEGE DISTRICT (SDCCD) BOARD OF TRUSTEES APPRO VAL to acquire 2.69 acres from the City of San Diego for the development of a parking garage and a new east entry as part of the implementation of the adopted Mesa College Facilities Master Plan. The project site is located at the head of a canyon at the western terminus of Mesa College Drive, south of the Mesa College campus proper, and north of Kearny Mesa Park in the Clairemont Mesa and Linda Vista communities in the City of San Diego
SAN DIEGO CITY COUNCIL APPROVAL of the vacation of a portion of Mesa College Drive and the sale of 2.69 acres to the SDCCD, a Site De velopment Permit, Permission to Grade, and a Multi-Habitat Planning Area Boundary Adjustment.
Applicant and Lead Agency: The San Diego Community College District.
Responsible Agency: The City of San Diego.
This recommended finding that the project will not have a significant effect on the environment is based on project revisions that now mitigate potentially significant environmental effects previously identified in an Environmental Initial Study conducted by the District. The draft Mitigated Negative Declaration, Initial Study, and supporting documents may be reviewed, or purchased for the cost of reproduction, at the office of the San Diego Community College District, Facilities Management, Room 310, 3375 Camino del Rio South, San Diego, California 92108-3883.

The review period starts on December 21, 2005, and ends on January 20, 2006. Written comments regarding the adequacy of this Draft Mitigated Negative Declaration must be received by the San Diego Community College District at the above address by January 20, 2006.
A final environmental report incorporating public input will then be prepared for consideration by decision-making authorities.
