The San Diego Harbor Police, a division of the Unified Port District of San Diego, in accordance with Section 526 of the Harbors and Navigation Code, hereby gives notice of intention to destroy the following unclaimed, unregistered vessel.
1) 10? blue/white, fiberglass boat

Notice is hereby given that the Purchasing Department, First Floor, of the San Diego Unified Port District will receive sealed bids at 3165 Pacific Highway, San Diego, California, until 2:00 P.M. on the 5TH day of March 2003 for:

The project includes installation of a separate fire protection water service including laterals, and valves, removal of existing fire service laterals and valves, installation of a sanitary sewer service, removal of existing sanitary sewer line, and other ancillary items of work as shown on the drawings and as specified in these specifications.
The work is located on the Imperial Beach Pier, Imperial Beach, California
The magnitude of this work is in the range of $250,000.00 to $350,000.00.
The bidder must possess a valid California State Contractors License, Classification A at the time the contract is submitted.
Bids will be opened in public at or about that hour at 3165 Pacific Highway, San Diego, California, all as more particularly contained in Document No. 45382 on file in the office of the Clerk of the District. No Bidder may withdraw a bid within sixty (60) days after the date set for the opening of bids.
A pre-bid conference will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on February 19, 2003, in Conference Room 1 at the District Administration Building. At the end of the conference, interested parties may visit the job site or, if indicated in the Special Conditions, make an appointment to visit the site. The District?s representative will be present at the pre-bid conference to receive questions. An addendum will be issued, if necessary to respond to questions raised. This will be the only job site tour given, please ensure your attendance. Failure to visit the job site shall be grounds for denial of claims for changed conditions.

Telephone Number (619) 686-6320. Shipment of plans and specifications by Federal Express is available at Bidder?s expense (please provide a completed airbill with your request). The purchase price and cost of shipment are not refundable. One set of plans and specifications will be made available by the District to local plan file services.
In accordance with the provisions of the California State labor Code, the District has obtained the general prevailing rate of wages (which rate includes employer payments for health and welfare, vacation, pension and similar purposes) applicable to the work to be done, for straight time, overtime, Saturday, Sunday and holiday work. All labor employed on this project shall be paid no less than such minimum rates of wages. These wage rates are available for inspection at the office of the Equal Opportunity Management Department of the San Diego Unified Port District.
It is the policy of the San Diego Unified Port District that certified Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE) shall have the maximum opportunity to participate in the performance of District contracts. The DBE participation goal for this proposal/bid/quote is zero percent (0%).
Bidder shall file any bond as required by the Contract and Civil Code section 3247. The provisions of Public Contract Code section 22300 apply to this Contract.
Bidders are hereby notified that the successful Bidder will be required to provide insurance in accordance with Section 1C-6.1, "Contractor?s Insurance," of the General Conditions.
In the public interest, the District reserves the right to reject any or all bids, or to waive any informality in a bid.
