NOTICE INVITING BIDS
of San Diego County, California, acting by and through its Governing Board, hereinafter referred to as the
District, will receive up to, but not later than 11:00 A.M. (PST) of March 7, 2012 ,
sealed bids for the award of a contract for:
ROOFING - OCEAN VIEW HILLS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
Bids shall be received in the office of Cesar Vega, Student Transportation Services, Education Center, 4350 Otay Mesa Road, San Diego, CA 92173. Bids will be opened and read aloud on this day and hour. Bids received after this time will be returned unopened. Parking is limited so plan accordingly. Oral, telephone, facsimile, or electronic submission of bids will not be accepted.
Each bid must conform and be responsive to this invitation, Bid Securities: Bid, Payment and Performance Bonds, Contract Documents and all plans, specifications and any other documents comprising the pertinent Contract Documents, copies of which are now on file and may be obtained after February 7, 2012 at the Office of Student Transportation Services, San Ysidro School District. All Bidding Questions and Requests for Clarification will only be accepted in writing and faxed to ATTN: Cesar Vega, Bid Administrator, Fax: 619 428 2778 or e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org and must be received a minimum of seven (7) days prior to bid opening.
Each bid shall be accompanied by the security referred to in the Contract Documents, the non-collusion affidavit, and all additional documentation required by the Instructions to Bidders section of the Contract Documents.
In contracts involving an expenditure in excess of $25,000, the successful bidder shall file a performance and payment bond issued by an admitted Surety approved to conduct business in the State of California approved by the District in the form set forth in the contract documents. THERE WILL BE A MANDATORY PRE-BID WALK THROUGH AT OCEAN VIEW HILLS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL AT 4919 Del Sol Boulevard, San Diego, CA 92154 ON FEBRUARY 15, 2012 AT 9:30 A.M. INTERESTED BIDDERS SHOULD MEET IN THE PARKING LOT OUTSIDE THE SCHOOL OFFICE AND WAIT FOR THE BID ADMINISTRATOR TO TAKE THEM TO THE WORK SITE.
Award of Bid: The District intends to award a purchase contract for the work to be performed to the lowest responsible, responsive Bidder MEETING ALL THE CRITERIA SPECIFIED IN THE BID for either alternate shown on the Bid Response Form, as determined by the District. Criteria include, but are not limited to, pricing, experience in the school construction business, certifications, and warranty information. The District reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any irregularities or informalities in any bids or in the bidding process, and to judge the merit and qualifications of the bidder and of the product offered.
The Director of Industrial Relations has determined the general prevailing rate of per diem wages in the locality in which this work is to be performed for each craft or type of worker needed to execute the contract which will be awarded to the successful bidder, copies of which may be obtained from the Director of Industrial Relations.
It shall be mandatory upon the Contractor to whom the contract is awarded and upon any subcontractor under him, to pay not less than the said specified rates to all workers employed by him in the execution of the contract.
Each bidder shall be a licensed contractor pursuant to the Business and Profession Code and shall be licensed in the following classification: C39.
No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period sixty (60) calendar days after the date set for the opening of bids.
