NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Southwestern Community College District of San Diego County, California, acting by and through its Governing Board, hereinafter referred to as the “DISTRICT” will receive up to, but no later than 10:00 AM of the 28th day of February, 2012, sealed Bids, No. 193, for the award of a contract for the Southwestern College Landscaping and Road Entry Project. Bids shall be addressed to John R. Brown, Director of Facilities, Operations and Planning and received at the office of Southwestern College Facilities, Operations and Planning; Building 1620, Room 1625 located at 900 Otay Lakes Road, Chula Vista, CA 91910, and shall be opened on the date and at the time listed above at Prop R Offices, Room1688.

Bid documents will be available on February 7, 2012. Contractors interested in obtaining bid documents must contact Professional Reprographics at 1440 Imperial Avenue, San Diego CA. 92101 or (619) 272-5600. CD's are available for a $10.00 fee. Documents may also be viewed and/or downloaded at no cost by visiting www.southwesterncollegeproprplanroom.com. Please note that you will need to login under your company's name and password in order to download the plans. If you do not have a company login and/or password, please register with the site first. If you have questions about registering, downloading or ordering, please contact Mark Caldwell at (619) 272-5600. Obtaining copies of the bid documents is the responsibility of the bidder and any costs are non-refundable. Bidders are also responsible for checking the website noted above for any addenda that may be posted.

Each bid shall be accompanied by the security referred to in the contract documents, the non-collusion affidavit, the list of proposed subcontractors, and all additional documentation required by the Instructions to Bidders.

The successful bidder shall file a payment bond issued by an admitted Surety approved to conduct business in the State of California approved by the District in the form set forth in the contract documents.

The District reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any irregularities or informalities in any bids or in the bidding.

The Director of Industrial Relations has determined the general prevailing rate of per diem wages in the locality in which this work is to be performed for each craft or type of worker needed to execute the contract, which will be awarded to the successful bidder, copies of which
are on file and will be made available to any interested party upon request at Southwestern Community College. It shall be mandatory upon the Contractor to whom the contract is awarded, and upon any subcontractor under him, to pay not less than the said specified rates to all workers employed by them in the execution of the contract.

Minority, women, and disabled veteran contractors are encouraged to submit bids. This bid is subject to Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise requirements.

This contract is subject to a labor compliance program, as described in subdivision (b) of section 1771.5 of the Labor Code.

Each bidder shall be a licensed contractor pursuant to the California Business and Professions Code Section 7028.15 and Public Contract Code Section 3300, and shall be licensed in the following classification as required by the scope of work required in the above called out bid packages: A or C10 and C12, Any bidder not licensed at the time of the bid opening will be rejected as non-responsive.

Contractors shall have been in business under the same name and California contractor's license for a minimum of three (3) continuous years prior to bid opening.

A MANDATORY bidder's conference will be held at Southwestern College, All interested bidders are required to meet in Parking Lot “P” (metered parking) on Thursday, February 16, 2012 at 10:00 AM for the purpose of acquainting all prospective bidders with the bid documents and the work site.

No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of ninety (90) days after the date set for the opening of bids.

Notice is hereby given that sealed bids will be received by the North County Transit District (“NCTD”) at the NCTD offices, 810 Mission Avenue, Oceanside, CA 92054, up to 2:00pm, Thursday, March 8, 2012 for the Bus Stop Improvements Project.
Project Description:  Bus stop signage, street furnishings, and access improvements at various stop locations throughout the NCTD service area.  The Scope of Work/Specifications/Plans provide a complete detailed description of the work.
Contractor’s License:  The successful bidder shall possess, at the time the contract for the Project is awarded, the California Contractor’s License Classification A or C-8. 
Engineers Estimate:  $400,000 to $500,000

Compliance with Labor Code Requirements/Prevailing Wages: The work falls into the category of public works construction projects for Federal and State requirements.  The successful bidder will be required to comply with all of the terms and conditions (including Federal and State General Prevailing Wage requirements) prescribed for contractors performing public works construction projects.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District, acting by and through its Governing Board, hereinafter referred to as the DISTRICT, will receive up to, but not later than 2:00 p.m. on February 21, 2012, sealed proposals for the award of the following contract:

Such proposals shall be received at the location specified below, and shall be opened and publicly read aloud at the stated time and place:

Each proposal must conform and be responsive to this Notice and all other documents comprising the pertinent Contract Documents. Copies of the Contract Documents are now on file and may be obtained from the Purchasing and Contracts Department at the above address. The District reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, to accept or reject any one or more items of a proposal, or to waive any irregularities or informalities in the proposals or in the process. No proposal may be withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) days after the date set for the opening of the proposals.
A mandatory pre-proposal meeting has been scheduled for Monday, February 13, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. to review the existing locations and conditions that will require the security guard patrol services. The pre-proposal meeting will take place at the District Annex Conference Room, which is located in Parking Lot 4 on the Grossmont College campus, 8800 Grossmont College Drive, El Cajon, CA 92020-1799.
Representatives of the District, and the campus will be present to answer any questions bidders have regarding this Project. Bids will not be accepted from any bidder who did not attend the mandatory pre-bid meeting and job-walk. All bidders in attendance will receive a copy of the pre-bid attendees list at the end of the meeting. Only bidders attending the pre-bid meeting and job-walk will receive any addenda that are issued after that date.
