The project includes: repair or replace structural steel members and hardware, repair or replace timber deck planks, repair boat landing ramp and fender system, replace some of the timber connection hardware, repair handrail, and replace the gate. Utility Repairs: repair electrical system, relocate firewater backflow and associated piping, replace light poles and fixtures, and install 120-volt duplex receptacles at top of light poles.
Prepare and re-coat structural steel, perform preventative maintenance on the boat landing, install shims at the top of timber piles, and repair coating on piles. Aesthetics Measures: replace pier-warning signs.
The bidder must possess a valid California State Contractors License, Classification A General Engineering at the time the contract is submitted. The magnitude of this work is in the range of $950,000.00 - $1.13 million.
Bids must be received no later than 2:00 p.m. on March 30, 2005 at the District Administration Building.
A pre-bid conference will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on March 16, 2005, in Conference Room 2 at the District Administration Building. At the end of the conference, interested parties may visit the job site or, if indicated in the Special Conditions, make an appointment to visit the site.

for the "Woodfin Suites Hotel & Port Master Plan Amendment"

Notice is hereby given that the San Diego Port District has prepared a Notice of Preparation (NOP) for a Draft Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for the "Woodfin Suites & Port Master Plan Amendment".
The proposed project involves the redevelopment of an existing marina and closed restaurant currently leased to Marina Cortez, Inc. The project site is located at 1880 Harbor Island Drive in San Diego within the West Harbor Island Subarea of the Harbor Island/Lindbergh Field Planning District 2 in the Port Master Plan. A subtenant, Woodfin Suite Hotels, LLC, will undertake the proposed redevelopment. The proposed project includes demolition of all existing structures on the 3.8-acre tidelands property and complete removal of the existing fuel dock. The proposed components of the project are described as follows:
¥ Construction of a six-story, 100-suite hotel with a restaurant and bar over partially
suppressed parking.
¥ Construction of a new and separate marina services building, including a mezzanine.
¥ Construction of a 1,120-lineal foot seawall along the entire shoreline frontage of the
marina. The seawall will be constructed atop a newly developed public promenade.
¥ Development of 401 on-site parking spaces.
¥ Evaluation of an alternative scenario of the project in which twenty of the 100
hotel suites will be marketed and operated as timeshare/vacation rentals.
The EIR will address the following probable environmental effects: Land Use, Coastal Access, Aesthetics, Hydrology/Water Quality, Transportation/Traffic, Air Quality, Noise, Geology, Hazards and Hazardous Materials, Public Services and Utilities, and Recreation.
The NOP is available for public review at the office of the District Clerk, San Diego Unified Port District, 3165 Pacific Highway, San Diego; and the Downtown Central Library, 820 E Street, San Diego.
