NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

As a property owner, tenant, or interested individual, you should know that the City Council of the City of San Diego will hold a public hearing to consider approval of Centre City/ Coastal Development Permit No. 41-0560 for the development of the historic Baggage Building (13,700sq.ft.) as an art exhibition facility by the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego and replacement of the non-historic REA building with a new three-story building (15,800sq.ft.) by the Museum for offices, classrooms, and art handling, with Amtrak?s use of a portion of the new building for storage and other back-of-house activities.
The project is proposed to be on the block bounded by Kettner Boulevard, the former B and C streets? rights-of-way, and California Street, in the Columbia Sub Area of the Centre City Community Planning area.
Concurrently with the City Council?s consideration of the Development Permit, the Agency will consider the Basic Concept/Schematic Drawings for the Museum?s development of the Baggage Building and construction of the new building on the REA Site.

EDUCATION AND OUTREACH SERVICES within the City of San Diego for the period July 1, 2003 to June 30, 2004 with the potential for annual renewals at the City?s discretion of up to four (4) additional one (1) year periods. Services include school and community education and outreach; multi-cultural education and outreach; and coordination of specified events for the City?s Environmental Services Department.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

As a nearby property owner or tenant, or person who has requested notice, you should know that the City Council will hold a public hearing to consider the 9TH and BROADWAY HOUSING project located on the 25,000 square foot site at the southeast corner of 9th Avenue and Broadway in the Central Core District of the Centre City Community Plan area. The project contains 268 Living Units and 126 apartment units in a 12-story, 158-foot tall building. Approximately 74% of the units will be restricted to very low- and low-income residents. The project will provide a minimum of 118 parking spaces in two levels of underground parking. The project requires Design Review approval; approval of a Conditional Use Permit for the Living Units, including modifications to the standard requirements for rent restrictions and parking; and, a variance to eliminate the requirements for the stepback of the facade under the Building Bulk Criteria of the Centre City Planned District Ordinance.
