Notice is hereby given that the Purchasing Department, First Floor, of the San Diego Unified Port District will receive sealed bids at 3165 Pacific Highway, San Diego, California, until 2:00 P.M. on the 13th day of APRIL 2006 for:

MARINE BOLLARDS REPLACEMENT
B STREET PIER, BROADWAY PIER,
AND NATIONAL CITY MARINE TERMINAL
SAN DIEGO AND NATIONAL CITY, CALIFORNIA


Work includes furnishing all labor, materials and equipments necessary to remove existing marine bollards and cleats and to install new District-furnished bollards, and other related incidental items of work as shown on the drawings and as specified in the specifications.
The project is located at B Street Pier and Broadway Pier, San Diego and National City Marine Terminal, National City, California.
The magnitude of this work is in the range of $108,000.00 - $132,000.00.
The bidder must possess a valid California State Contractors License; Classification A at the time the contract is submitted.
Bids will be opened in public at or about that hour at 3165 Pacific Highway, San Diego, California, all as more particularly contained in Document No. 50185 on file in the office of the Clerk of the District. No Bidder may withdraw a bid after the date set for bid opening.
A pre-bid conference will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on March 27, 2006, in Conference Room 1 at the District Administration Building.
Plans and specifications are available for download on Port of San Diego website, www.portofsandiego.org. Plans and specifications may also be purchased for $40,00 per each set on or about March 15, 2006 during the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding District holidays, from the Purchasing Department, San Diego Unified Port District, P.O. Box 120488, San Diego, CA 92112-0488, or picked up in person at 3165 Pacific Highway, San Diego, California, Telephone Number (619) 686-6320. Shipment of plans and specifications by Federal Express is available at Bidder’s expense (please provide a completed airbill with your request). The purchase price and cost of shipment are not refundable. The District will make one set of plans and specifications available to local plan file services.
It is the policy of the San Diego Unified Port District that certified Small Business Enterprises (SBEs) shall have the maximum opportunity to participate in the performance of District Contracts. Certified SBEs with qualifying experience are encouraged to respond to the request for proposals/bids/quotes, etc.
In the public interest, the District reserves the right to reject any or all bids, or to waive any informality in a bid.
