NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the LAKESIDE UNION SCHOOL DISTRICT of San Diego County, California, acting by and through its Governing Board, hereinafter referred to as the DISTRICT, will receive up to, but not later than 10:00 A.M. on the 8th day of April, 2008 sealed bids for the award of a contract for:

ROOFING AT LINDO PARK ELEMENTARY

Such bids shall be received in the office of the Governing Board of said DISTRICT located at 12335 WOODSIDE AVENUE, LAKESIDE, CALIFORNIA, and shall be opened and publicly read aloud at the above stated time and place.
Each bid must conform and be responsive to this invitation, the INFORMATION FOR BIDDERS, the SPECIFICATIONS, the PLANS, if any, and all other documents comprising the pertinent CONTRACT DOCUMENTS, and must be accompanied by the security referred to therein. Copies of the CONTRACT DOCUMENTS are on file and may be obtained in the office of said Board at the above address.
There will be a mandatory pre-bid job walk at 10:00 A.M. on the 31st of March, 2008, at Lindo Park Elementary School, 12824 Lakeshore Dr., Lakeside, CA. 92040. It is imperative that all bidders attend the pre-bid job walk. Failure to attend the pre-bid walk will disqualify the non-attending bidder, from the bid.
In contracts involving an expenditure in excess of $ 25,000 , the successful bidder shall file a PAYMENT BOND issued by an admitted Surety approved to conduct business in the State of California approved by the District in the form set forth in the contract documents. A PAYMENT BOND must be filed for a contract involving an expenditure in excess of $25,000 (Civil Code Section 3247(a)) and may be required for contracts involving small expenditures at the option of the DISTRICT.
The Director of Industrial Relations has determined the general prevailing rate of per diem wages in the locality in which this work is to be performed for each craft or type of worker needed to execute the contract which will be awarded to the successful bidder.
It shall be mandatory upon the contractor to whom the contract is awarded and upon any subcontractor under him, to pay not less than said specified rates to all workers employed by them in the execution of the contract.
Each bidder shall be a licensed contractor pursuant to the Business and Professions Code. Pursuant to subdivision (e) of Business and Professions Code Section 7028.15 "a licensed contractor shall not submit a bid to a public agency unless he or she contractor's license number appears clearly on the bid, the license expiration date is stated, and the bid contains a statement that the representations are made therein are under penalty of perjury. Any bid not containing this information or a bid containing information which is subsequently proven false, shall be considered nonresponsive and shall be rejected by the public agency."
No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of ninety (90) days after the date set for the opening of bids.
Notice to Bidders Regarding AB1610 Education Code section 45125.1 requires all entities having certain contracts with school districts to certify that employees of contractors who may have contact with pupils have not been convicted of serious or violent felonies as defined by statute. Prior to certification, contractors must have their employees fingerprinted and receive clearance from the California Department of Justice (DOJ). In order to obtain clearance, the contractor must first be awarded a contract by the school district and the district must certify this fact to the DOJ.
The fingerprinting and certification requirements do not apply if the school district determines that, under the totality of circumstances, employees of contractors will have only limited contact -or no contact - with pupils.

The Santa Fe Irrigation District, invites sealed bids for the 3 MODULAR OFFICE UNITS- ON SITE UTIILTIES (No. J-704).

DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The work to be done generally includes: Completion of pad for modular structures, installation of parking lot for 19 spaces, installation of numerous curbs, paving, all in accordance with contract documents.
COMPLETION OF WORK: All work must be completed within 68 calendar days after the commencement date stated in the Notice to Proceed.
Sealed bids must be received at the office of the Santa Fe Irrigation District, (PO Box 409 if mailing proposal) 5920 Linea del Cielo, Rancho Santa Fe, CA 92067-0409, by March 31, 2008 at 2:00 PM at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the City of La Mesa will receive sealed bids for performing work as follows:
Intersection Improvements at University Avenue/Yale Avenue, in the City of La Mesa, County of San Diego, State of California - signal improvement and
all appurtenant work per City of La Mesa Drawings No. 9032.1 thru 9032.5 and according to specifications,
and all appurtenant work necessary for the proper construction of the entire contemplated improvements in the City of La Mesa under Bid No.07-15, in accordance with the terms and provisions of the plans and specifications therefor which are on file in the office of the City Engineer, located in City Hall at 8130 Allison Avenue, La Mesa, California, 91941, Telephone Number (619) 667-1166, Fax Number (619) 667-1380.
This project has a goal of 9 % (race neutral) disadvantaged business enterprise (DBE) participation.

BID SECURITY: Each bid shall be accompanied by a certified or cashier's check or Bid Bond in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the total bid price, payable to the conditions provided in the Information for Bidders.
WAGE RATE REQUIREMENTS: Attention of Bidders is directed to the requirements for the conditions of employment to be observed and the minimum wage rate to be paid under this Contract. A minimum wage scale for each craft has been established by the Director of Industrial Relations of the State of California, pursuant to the requirements of Sections 1770, 1773, 1773.1, 1773.6 of the California Labor Code and the City's Resolution No. 12407 adopting these rates for Public Works Contracts. At the City Engineer's Office, a copy of this resolution and the current prevailing wage rates may be reviewed.
This is a Federal-Aid project and Davis-Bacon Act will be enforced. The Federal Wage Rates are those determined by the Federal Department of Labor Relations. The Contractor is obligated to pay the higher of the two rates, State and Federal wage rates, if there is a difference. Refer to Part II of these Specifications for further information.
BIDS TO REMAIN OPEN: Bidder may not withdraw their proposal within sixty (60) calendar days after the date set for the opening of the bids.
CONTRACTOR'S LICENSE CLASSIFICATION: In accordance with the provisions of California Public Contract Code Section 3300, the City has determined that the contractor shall possess a valid Class A or C-10 Contractor license at the time that the contract is awarded. Failure to possess the specified license shall render the bid as nonresponsive and shall act as a bar to award of the Contract to any bidder not possessing said license at the time of award.
PRE-BID VISIT MEETING: NONE.
ADDRESS AND MARKINGS OF BIDS: The envelope enclosing the Bid shall be sealed and addressed to the City, and shall be delivered or mailed to the Office of the City Clerk at 8130 Allison Avenue, La Mesa, CA 91941. The envelope shall be plainly marked in the upper left hand corner with the name and address of the Bidder and shall bear the words "Bid For ..." followed by the title of the Project, the date and hour of bid opening, and the appropriate State Contractors license designation which he/she holds. The City of Del Mar, OWNER, invites sealed bids for:

INSTALLATION OF NEW FLOORING
FOR CITY HALL BUILDING

The City of Del Mar seeks a bid from your firm for removal and installation of New Flooring (Composite Vinyl Tile, Commercial Carpet, and Quarry Tile) for the City Hall Building in the City of Del Mar. Bid packages are available without charge from the City Clerk at 1050 Camino Del Mar, Del Mar, CA. 92014.

Mandatory site visit for all bidders is scheduled for March 31, 2008 at 8:00 AM.

Contract will be awarded based upon total bid price. However, Contractor should realize that the purpose of this bid schedule is to also set unit prices for components of the project, as a reference base when extra or lesser quantities are needed than initially planned.
The work includes any, but not limited to the following: removal and disposal of existing floor surfaces including abatement of possible asbestos containing materials.
RECEIPT AND OPENING OF PROPOSALS: Sealed proposals will be received at the office of the City Clerk, City of Del Mar, located at 1050 Camino Del Mar, Del Mar, California, until 2:00 PM, on Tuesday, April 8, 2008, at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud at said office. OPINION OF PROBABLE CONSTRUCTION COST: The Public Works Director's opinion of probable construction cost for this project is approximately $45,000.00.
COMPLETION OF WORK: All WORK must be completed during the course of four (4) Saturdays beginning at 7:00 AM and ending work each day at 12:00 PM.
BID SECURITY: Bid Security shall accompany the bid in the form of a certified or cashier's check, or a Bid Bond made payable to the OWNER in the amount of ten percent of the total bid amount.
PERFORMANCE AND PAYMENT BONDS: The successful bidder will be required to furnish a Payment Bond made payable to the OWNER in the amount of fifty percent, and a Performance Bond made payable to the OWNER in the amount of one hundred percent of the contract amount.
WAGE RATES: Prevailing wage rate for the locality in which the WORK is to be performed and the construction activity applies to this contract. Not less than these rates shall be paid to all workers employed on the project.
CONTRACTOR'S LICENSING LAWS: Attention is directed to the CONTRACTOR's License Law concerning the licensing of CONTRACTORS. CONTRACTORS are required to be licensed and regulated by the CONTRACTOR's State License Board. CONTRACTOR shall also obtain a City of Del Mar business license.
PROJECT ADMINISTRATION: All questions related to this project prior to the opening of bids shall be directed to David Scherer, Public Works Director, for the project listed.
