FURNISH AND INSTALL LUNCH COURT SHELTERS AT
FOUR SCHOOL SITES.

Notice is hereby given that the Board of Education of the San Diego Unified School District acting by and through its governing board, hereinafter referred to as "Owner", will be calling for bids for the furnishing of all labor, materials, transportation, equipment and services to furnish and install lunch court shelters at four school sites.
As a condition of bidding and in accordance with the provision of Section 20111.5 of the California Public Contract Code, the district is requiring prequalification of all bidders wishing to submit bids on this project. Bidders must prequalify at a minimum of $1 million.
Prospective bidders are required to submit a completed prequalification package supplied by the district including an audited or reviewed financial statement in order to be prequalified for this project. Once submitted, a bidderÕs prequalification statement is valid for a 12-month period. Bids will not be accepted from any bidder who has not prequalified. Prequalification packages are due on or before 12:00 Noon, on Wednesday, April 6, 2005. Late submittals will not be accepted.

Notice is hereby given that the Board of Education of the San Diego Unified School District, acting by and through its governing board, will receive sealed bids for the furnishing of all labor, materials, transportation, equipment, and services for the SAN DIEGO HIGH SCHOOL PHASE 4. Construction cost estimate is approx. $2 Million Dollars.
As a condition of bidding and in accordance with the provision of Section 20111.5 of the California Public Code, the district is requiring prequalification of all general contractors wishing to submit bids on this project. Bidders must prequalify at a minimum of $2 million dollars. Bids will not be accepted if an approved contractorÕs statement meeting the minimum qualifications for this job is not on file with the district.
Prospective bidders are required to submit a completed prequalification questionnaire supplied by the district. Prequalification packages are now available at the Contracts Management Office, 4860 Ruffner Street, San Diego, CA 92111. Prequalification packages are due on or before April 4, 2005.
Each bidder shall be a licensed contractor pursuant to the Business and Professional Code and shall be licensed in the following classification: B.
Each bid must conform and be responsive to the contract documents. Copies of the documents may be obtained at Universal Reprographics, 1747 Hancock Street, Suite E, San Diego, CA 92101 telephone number (619) 295-7882, beginning March 21, 2005 by depositing $100 for each set. Checks for deposit will be required, made payable to the San Diego Unified School District. This deposit is refundable according to the conditions outlined in the bid documents.
A Site visit will be held as follows: March 30, 2005 @ 10:00 a.m. Meet at the school office/main entrance, San Diego High School, 1405 Park Blvd, San Diego, CA 92101. This site visit is mandatory and should a bidder not attend, they will not be allowed to bid as it is a material requirement of the contract.
All bids will be received by Maintenance and Operations, Contract Management Office, at 4860 Ruffner Street, San Diego, CA, 92111, up to, but no later than, 2:00 P.M. on April 13, 2005 at which time bids will be opened and publicly read aloud.
Labor Compliance notice: San Diego Unified School District operates an Initially Approved Labor Compliance Program. Under this program the District, in part, will review and audit payroll records to verify compliance with labor laws and shall have the right to withhold payments and enforce penalties for non-compliance. WAGES: The Director of the Department of Industrial Relations has determined the general prevailing rate of per diem wages in the locality in which this public work is to be performed for each craft, classification, or type of worker needed to execute the contract. Copies of that determination are available at the DistrictÕs Labor Compliance Office for interested parties upon request.
Each bid shall be submitted on the bid form provided in the bid documents. Each bid shall be accompanied by a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the bidder and Surety Company, or certified check, or cashier's check in favor of the San Diego Unified School District, or cash, in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the bid. Said Bid Bond shall be given to guarantee that the bidder will execute the contract as specified, within three (3) working days after the notification of the award of the contract to bidder.
The District reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any irregularities or informalities in any bids or in the bidding. No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of 60 days after the date set for the opening of bids. For information regarding prequalification or bidding, please call (858) 637-6252.
