NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Grossmont Union High School District of San Diego County, California, acting by and through its Governing Board, hereinafter referred to as the DISTRICT, will receive up to, but not later than 2:00 o'clock p.m. of the 24th day of April , 2003, sealed bids for the award of a contract for Bid #2936 - Improvement of Softball Fields, Grossmont, Monte Vista, and West Hills High Schools
Bids shall be received in the office of the Director of Operations, GROSSMONT UNION HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT and shall be opened and publicly read aloud at the above-stated time and place.
Each bid must conform and be responsive to the contract documents, copies of which are on file and may be obtained after March 31, 2003, between the hours of 7:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. only at the office of the Director of Maintenance, 9600 Milden Street, La Mesa, CA.
A mandatory job walk will be held on Thursday, April 17, 2003, at 9:00 a.m. for the purpose of acquainting all prospective bidders with the bid documents and the work site. It is imperative that all bidders attend this job walk. Failure to attend may disqualify the non-attending bidder from the bid.
In order to be eligible for the mandatory job walk, plans and specifications must be picked up no later than Wednesday, April 16, 2003, 3:30 p.m.
Each bid shall be accompanied by the security referred to in the contract documents, the non-collusion affidavit, the list of proposed subcontractors, and all additional documentation required by the Instructions to Bidders.
In contracts involving an expenditure in excess of $10,000, the successful bidder shall file a payment bond issued by an admitted Surety approved to conduct business in the State of California approved by the District in the form set forth in the contract documents.*
The District reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any irregularities or informalities in any bids or in the bidding.
The lowest bid shall be the lowest total of the bid prices on the base contract and those additive or deductive items taken in the order set forth in the bid form.
The Director of Industrial Relations has determined the general prevailing rate of per diem wages in the locality in which this work is to be performed for each craft or type of worker needed to execute the contract which will be awarded to the successful bidder, copies of which are on file and will be made available to any interested party upon request at Grossmont Union High School District, Director of Maintenance, 9600 Milden Street, La Mesa, CA.
It shall be mandatory upon the Contractor to whom the contract is awarded, and upon any subcontractor under him, to pay not less than the said specified rates to all workers employed by them in the execution of the contract.
Each bidder shall be a licensed contractor pursuant to the Business and Professions Code and shall be licensed in the following classification: B General Contractor. No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of sixty ( 60 ) days after the date set for the opening of bids.

NOTICE INVITING BIDS

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the National School District of San Diego County, California, acting by and through its Governing Board, (hereinafter referred to as the DISTRICT), will receive up to, but not later than 2:00 o'clock p.m. of the 21st day of April, 2003, sealed bids for the award of a contract for Kitchen Remodel at John Otis School, Bid No. 02-03.1KT.
Bids shall be received in the office of the Assistant Superintendent, Business Services and shall be opened and publicly read aloud at the above-stated time and place.
Each bid must conform and be responsive to the contract documents, copies of which are now on file and may be obtained after March 24, 2003, at 1500 N Avenue, National City, CA 91950. A non-refundable charge of Fifteen Dollars ($15.00) will be required of any bidder who requests that the Bid Documents be mailed.

REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS

TO PROVIDE CONSULTANT SERVICES FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF A COST ALLOCATION MODEL

The SAN DIEGO METROPOLITAN TRANSIT DEVELOPMENT BOARD (MTDB), 1255 Imperial Avenue, Suite 1000, San Diego, CA 92101-7490, is interested in receiving proposals from qualified consultants to provide services to develop cost allocation models for the Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) contracted bus services. The qualified consultant will develop a Microsoft Windows personal computer-based cost allocation model to serve as a comprehensive tool for estimating marginal and fully allocated costs associated with adjusting existing transit service levels and implementing new services. The project budget shall not exceed $60,000.
The Project Manager for this project is Mike Daney, 619.557.4541. Questions relating to this project should be addressed to the project manager.
The Request for Proposals (RFP) can be obtained by contacting MTDB at the above address, attention: Proposal/Project Information (619.557.4586) at no cost. If shipping is requested, you must furnish your firm?s Federal Express or United Parcel Service (UPS) account number against which shipment is to be arranged. Ask for the RFP for Consultant Services for the Development of a Cost Allocation Model. The City of Chula Vista hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any Contract entered into pursuant to this Notice, minority business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, sex, or national origin in consider-ation for an award.
No bid shall be received unless it is made on a Proposal Form furnished by the City Engineer. Each bid must be accompanied by cash, certified, of cashier's check, or bid bond in an amount equal to at least ten percent (10%) of the amount bid, such Guaranty to be forfeited should the bidder to whom the Contract is awarded fail to enter into the Contract. No bidder's Guaranty is required if the bid amount is $50,000 or less.
City requires that Performance, Labor and Material Bonds, and Liability Insurance Certificates be issued by a company authorized to do business (by Best's definition "Admitted", Best's codes "L" or "D") in the State of California with a Best's rating of A- or better; Class V, or better. Insurer's providing surplus lines in California (designated as "S" insurers in Best's are not acceptable nor are cut-through endorsements). Insurance Certificates shall not include "Modified Occurrence" restrictions. Any renewal certificates required during the course of the contract must be renewed and received by the City within 15 days prior to expiration and must meet the same criteria. No substitutions shall be allowed. City also requires that Performance and Labor and Material Bond be issued by a company authorized to do business in the State of California with a Best?s rating of A-, Class V or better.
Bidder acknowledges the duty to provide bonds from a surety specified in the bid specifications. By bidding on this job, (1) Bidder waives any rights they may have under Civil Code Sections 995.660 and 995.670; and (2) Bidder agrees to indemnify and hold City harmless against any loss, expense or expenditure, including attorneys fees and costs, which City may suffer in any claim, action, suit or other proceeding that may be brought by a surety submitted by Bidder that does not meet the City's specifications for a surety. Bidder acknowledges that City may reject any and all bids, and that if a low bidder bids with a lower cost premium for sub-specification performance and payment bonds, other bidders not similarly taking advantage of the lower cost premium will be put in a cost disadvantage in the bid process, and that this may, in the City's judgment, necessitate re-bidding the job.
Contractors are not required by bid specifications to pay prevailing wage ("NOT Prevailing Wage Rates") to persons employed by them for work under this Contract in accordance with Section 2.58.070 of the Chula Vista Municipal Code regulating payment of prevailing wages for Contracts let by the City.
No bid will be accepted from a Contractor who has not been licensed in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 9, Division 3 of the Business and Professions Code and its implementing regulations. All Contractors and subcontractors are required to have a valid City of Chula Vista business license prior to start of work.
Plans, forms of proposals, bonds, Contract special provisions, and specifications may be examined at the office of the City Engineer, Public Services Building, 276 Fourth Avenue, Chula Vista, California. Copies of plans and specifications may be obtained at the office upon payment of $9.00. Remit $12.00 if you wish to have the plans and specifications mailed to you. If payment is to be made by check, it should be made payable to the "City of Chula Vista."
