On Tuesday, March 18, 2003, the Board of Port Commissioners of the San Diego Unified Port District will hold a public hearing on the following matter:
PROPOSED MODIFICATION OF LANE FIELD PARKING RATES
The public hearing will be on the agenda of said Board for the meeting of that date which will commence at 1:00 p.m. in the?Board Room,?Don L. NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS
Notice is hereby given that the Purchasing Department, First Floor, of the San Diego Unified Port District will receive sealed bids at 3165 Pacific Highway, San Diego, California, until 2:00 P.M. on the 21st day of APRIL 2003 for:

CANYON PATH PEDESTRIAN
SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA
The project includes work to be completed in accordance with drawings and Specification 2003-07 of The San Diego Unified Port District and shall include; demolition, earthwork, portland cement concrete (PCC) improvements, asphalt concrete (AC) repairs, walkway acid staining, gas meter enclosure trellis, landscape planting and irrigation, electrical service and lighting, wall painting, parking trellis modifications, artwork (installations only), BMP storm drain pollution control, and other related incidental items of work.
The magnitude of this work is in the range of $200,000.00 to $300,000.00.
The bidder must possess a valid California State Contractors License, Classification A or B at the time the contract is submitted.
Bids will be opened in public at or about that hour at 3165 Pacific Highway, San Diego, California, all as more particularly contained in Document No. 45540 on file in the office of the Clerk of the District. No Bidder may withdraw a bid within sixty (60) days after the date set for the opening of bids.
A pre-bid conference will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on March 24, 2003, in Conference Room 1 at the District Administration Building.
Plans and specifications are available for download on Port of San Diego website, www.portofsandiego.org. Plans and specifications may also be purchased for $15.00 per each set on or after March 7, 2003, during the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding District holidays, from the Purchasing Department, San Diego Unified Port District, P.O. Box 120488, San Diego, CA 92112-0488, or picked up in person at 3165 Pacific Highway, San Diego, California, Telephone Number (619) 686-6320. Shipment of plans and specifications by Federal Express is available at Bidder's expense (please provide a completed airbill with your request). The purchase price and cost of shipment are not refundable. One set of plans and specifications will be made available by the District to local plan file services.
It is the policy of the San Diego Unified Port District that certified Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs) shall have the maximum opportunity to participate in the performance of District Contracts. Certified DBEs with qualifying experience are encouraged to respond to the request for proposals/bids/quotes, etc.
In the public interest, the District reserves the right to reject any or all bids, or to waive any informality in a bid.
