The County of San Diego, Owner, invites sealed bids for CONSTRUCTION OF STAGE COACH LANE IMPROVEMENTS, (RFB 1406).
Sealed bids will be received at the Office of Purchasing and Contracting, Lobby Front Desk, County Operations Center, 5555 Overland Avenue, Suite 1111 (Bldg 11), San Diego, California, 92123-2149, until 2:00 p.m.
on May 10, 2006,
at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud. The Contractor shall possess, at the time the Contract is awarded, a California contractor's license, Classification A
, General Engineering Contractor, or a Classification C-12, Earthwork and Paving Contractor
. Work to be done consists in general of the widening of Stage Coach Lane between Mission Road and Knollwood Avenue (approximately 0.47 miles) and improvements to Fallbrook High School parking areas. The project includes earthwork, placing aggregate base, asphalt concrete and asphalt concrete dikes, planing asphalt concrete, cleaning and sealing random cracks and repairing distressed pavement, placing reinforced concrete pipe and corrugated steel pipe, constructing masonry block wall, constructing concrete curb inlets, cleanout, headwall, wall footing, pipe invert liner, curb, curb and gutter, sidewalk, driveways, pipe collars and lug, constructing chain link fencing, traffic striping and marking, traffic striping removal, traffic control and implementation of water pollution control measures. The project is located in the vicinity of Fallbrook. The cost of construction is estimated to be from $700,000 to $900,000. A set of full-size plans may be obtained at the Dept of Purchasing and Contracting, referenced above, at an additional cost of $7 per set. Only complete sets of full-size plans will be sold. Full-size plans will not be sent to full-size plan holders when plans are revised and issued as addenda unless re-ordered. Only revised reduced plans will be issued as necessary with addenda. Full-size plans will contain only the revisions made to the plans at the time of issuance. Soils reports are not available for this project. A cross sections pkg (38 sheets) used in the design of this project is available for review or purchase at a cost of $19 at the Department of Purchasing and Contracting, location referenced above. These are provided for informational purposes only, and are not part of this Contract. Make checks payable to County of San Diego; no refund will be made. All prices include tax.
