As a property owner, tenant or person who has requested notice, you should know that the Planning Commission will hold a public hearing to recommend approval, conditional approval, or denial to the City Council of an Amendment to the Mid-City Communities Planned District Ordinance. This item was originally noticed for a previous public hearing on March 6th, 2008, but was continued and then subsequently continued on April 3, 2008, due to a loss of quorum.
The proposed amendment would establish an interim height limitation that would limit structures above a building height of 50 and 65 feet along specific portions of 5th Avenue, Robinson Avenue, University Avenue, and Washington Street north of Brookes Avenue within the CN-1, CN-1A, CN-2A, and CV-1 zones and establish a Process 4 review for structures above a building height of 65 feet along specific portions of 4th Avenue, 5th Avenue, and 6th Avenue south of Brookes Avenue within the CN-1A, NP-1, CV-1, and MR-400 zones of the Uptown Community. These provisions of the proposed amendment would remain in effect until the adoption of the Uptown Community Plan Update (to commence in 2008) or 30 months from the adoption of this ordinance whichever occurs first. The proposed amendment would also allow the City Council to extend these provisions by a majority vote should the 30-month limitation expire prior to the adoption of the Uptown Community Plan Update for two 180-day periods in accordance with Process 5. Projects deemed complete prior to the adoption of this ordinance would be exempt from these provisions.
The decision to approve, conditionally approve, modify or deny the proposed amendment to the Mid-City Communities Planned District Ordinance will be made to by the City Council at a future public hearing. A separate notice of public hearing will be provided 10 business days prior to the City Council hearing for this item.

 Subject:    Wireless Facilities:  Approval of these process two permits, which could include a Neighborhood Use Permit and/or a Coastal Development Permit, would allow for the construction, operation and maintenance of unmanned, wireless communication facilities.  For this Mitigated Negative Declaration to be utilized, the wireless facilities cannot result in any potential significant environmental impacts other than potential noise impacts, which would be mitigated to below a level of significance as outlined in this document.  These projects would utilize vaults for their equipment, would be located adjacent to single-family residential homes, and would be located in public rights-of-way including areas devoid of potentially sensitive biological resources.  As such, the proposed projects would not be located within or adjacent to the City of San Diego’s Multi-Habitat Planning Area (MHPA).  In addition these projects would not have any adverse impacts to Paleontological or Archaeological resources.   The proposed project sites would be located within any community planning areas.

Qualcomm Stadium

The City of San Diego is soliciting responses to a Request for Proposals (RFP) that describes an opportunity for the operation of Automobile Sales Events at Qualcomm Stadium. Capable operators are invited to submit proposals conveying sufficient information regarding their operational expertise and other criteria as described in the RFP, to enable the City to select an operator for this use of City property.
