NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the LAKESIDE UNION SCHOOL DISTRICT of San Diego County, California, acting by and through its Governing Board, hereinafter referred to as the DISTRICT, will receive up to, but not later than _10:00 A.M on the 28th day of APRIL, 2006 sealed bids for the award of a contract for:

CARPETING AT A DESIGNATED SITE WITHIN THE DISTRICT

Such bids shall be received in the office of the Governing Board of said DISTRICT located at 12335 WOODSIDE AVENUE, LAKESIDE, CALIFORNIA, and shall be opened and publicly read aloud at the above stated time and place.
Each bid must conform and be responsive to this invitation, the INFORMATION FOR BIDDERS, the SPECIFICATIONS, the PLANS, if any, and all other documents comprising the pertinent CONTRACT DOCUMENTS, and must be accompanied by the security referred to therein. Copies of the CONTRACT DOCUMENTS are on file and may be obtained in the office of said Board at the above address.
There will be a mandatory pre bid job walk at 10:00 A.M. on the 24th of APRIL 2006, at Lindo Park Elementary School, 12824 Lakeshore Drive, Lakeside, Ca. 92040. It is imperative that all bidders attend the pre bid job walk. Failure to attend the pre bid walk will disqualify the non-attending bidder, from the bid.
In contracts involving an expenditure in excess of $ 25,000 , the successful bidder shall file a PAYMENT BOND issued by an admitted Surety approved to conduct business in the State of California approved by the District in the form set forth in the contract documents. A PAYMENT BOND must be filed for a contract involving expenditure in excess of $25,000 (Civil Code Section 3247(a)) and may be required for contracts involving small expenditures at the option of the DISTRICT.
The Director of Industrial Relations has determined the general prevailing rate of per diem wages in the locality in which this work is to be performed for each craft or type of worker needed to execute the contract which will be awarded to the successful bidder.
It shall be mandatory upon the contractor to whom the contract is awarded and upon any subcontractor under him, to pay not less than said specified rates to all workers employed by them in the execution of the contract.
Each bidder shall be a licensed contractor pursuant to the Business and Professions Code. Pursuant to subdivision (e) of Business and Professions Code Section 7028.15 "a licensed contractor shall not submit a bid to a public agency unless he or she contractor's license number appears clearly on the bid, the license expiration date is stated, and the bid contains a statement that the representations are made therein are under penalty of perjury. Any bid not containing this information or a bid containing information which is subsequently proven false, shall be considered nonresponsive and shall be rejected by the public agency."
No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of ninety (90) days after the date set for the opening of bids.
Notice to Bidders Regarding AB1610 Education Code section 45125.1 requires all entities having certain contracts with school districts to certify that employees of contractors who may have contact with pupils have not been convicted of serious or violent felonies as defined by statute. Prior to certification, contractors must have their employees fingerprinted and receive clearance from the California Department of Justice (DOJ). In order to obtain clearance, the contractor must first be awarded a contract by the school district and the district must certify this fact to the DOJ.
The fingerprinting and certification requirements do not apply if the school district determines that, under the totality of circumstances, employees of contractors will have only limited contact -or no contact - with pupils.

Wetland Mitigation Project at Rancho Del Oro

Notice is hereby given that sealed bids will be received by the North San Diego County Transit Development Board (“NCTD”) at the NCTD offices, 810 Mission Avenue, Oceanside, CA 92054, up to 2 pm, Thursday, May 18, 2006 for the Wetland Mitigation Project At Rancho Del Oro.
Project Description:  This project is the second stage in construction of an offsite wetland mitigation project for the Sprinter Rail Project construction program.  The work includes the Installation Phase consisting of eradication of existing weeds, installation of an irrigation system and the planting and seeding of the site, and the Maintenance Phase consisting of the maintenance of the site for one year after completion and acceptance of the Installation Phase.
NOTE:   The above descriptions are for general information.  The Technical Specifications in Section 07 and Contract Drawings provide a complete and detailed description of the project scope.
Contractor’s License: 
The successful bidder shall possess, at the time the contract for the Project is awarded, the California Contractor’s License Classification A & C27.  Pursuant to California Public Contract Code section 20103.5, no bid submitted shall be invalidated by NCTD for failure of the bidder to be licensed in accordance with the laws of this state at the time of bid submittal.  Failure of the successful bidder to obtain proper and adequate licensing for award of the contract for the Project shall constitute a failure to execute the contract, and shall result in the forfeiture of its Bid Security, as required herein.
Engineers Estimate/Estimated Value of Work: 
The engineers estimate for this work is $600,000.00.
