The County of San Diego, Owner, invites sealed bids for CONSTRUCTION OF LOS COCHES CREEK SEWER IMPROVEMENTS, (RFB 1396). Sealed bids will be received at the Office of Purchasing and Contracting, Lobby Front Desk, County Operations Center, 5555 Overland Avenue, Suite 1111 (Bldg 11), San Diego, California, 92123-2149, until 2:00 p.m. on May 11, 2006, at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud. The Contractor shall possess, at the time of submitting the bid, a California contractor's license, Classification A, General Engineering Contractor, or a Classification C-34, Pipeline Contractor. An inspection of the project construction area is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on April 27, 2006. Contractors are to assemble at the driveway to the Rancho Los Coches RV Park on Highway 8 Business (Business Route 8), approximately 0.4 miles east of Los Coches Road (Thomas Guide 1232, G6). Work to be Done consists in general of replacement of an existing sewer pipeline with an 18" polyvinyl chloride sewer pipeline and includes earthwork, including rock excavation, temporary sewer by-pass system, manhole construction, placement of cellular concrete mats and concrete armor units for permanent erosion protection, traffic control and detour signing, preparation of stormwater pollution prevention plan and implementation of water pollution control measures. The project is located in the vicinity of Lakeside. The cost of construction is estimated to be from $700,000 to $900,000.
