The County of San Diego, Owner, invites sealed bids for CONSTRUCTION OF VIA DE SANTA FE/LA GRANADA INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENT; ORACLE PROJECT NO. 1009578; BID No. 4482

Sealed bids will be received at the Office of Purchasing and Contracting, 10089 Willow Creek Road, Suite 150, San Diego, California, 92131, until 2:00 p.m. on MAY 6, 2010, at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud. Contract documents including Plans, Specifications and Bid Forms are available for download that the County Buynet site: http://buynets.sdcounty.ca.gov . You must be registered at the site in order to download documents. The Contractor shall possess, at the time of submitting the bid, a California contractor's license, Classification A, General Engineering Contractor. The cost of construction is estimated to be from $250,000 to $290,000. Bid security of no less than 10% required at time of bid. Successful bidder shall provide Payment and Performance Bonds for 100% of the contract amount. Prevailing Wage rates apply. The Owner, as a matter of policy, encourages the Disabled Veterans Business Enterprise (DVBE) participation for this project. SAN DIEGO COUNTY REGIONAL AIRPORT AUTHORITY
On-Call Electrical Service

The San Diego County Regional Airport Authority ("Authority") seeks Statements of Qualifications (SOQ) from firms or individuals for provision of on-call electrical services at San Diego International Airport (“Airport”). Services may include, but are not limited to: power supply; exterior and interior service connections; transformers and switches; and other site electrical work. The Authority shall act as the “General Contractor” for all work performed under the “Task Order” approach to these services. The Contractor is required to self-perform all work under these Task Orders. A draft scope of work is posted in Exhibit A of the Draft Agreement included in the Request for Qualifications ("RFQ") document.
Interested firms or individuals with demonstrated experience in the provision of on-call electrical services are encouraged to participate in this solicitation process and must comply with the submittal requirements described in the RFQ.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on Tuesday, May 11, 2010, a public hearing (the “Public Hearing”) as required by Section 147(f) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended (the “Code”), will be held by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Diego (the “County”), with respect to the proposed execution and delivery of Certificates of Participation (the “Series 2010 Certificates”) evidencing proportionate interests of the holders thereof in installment payments to be paid by the County from purchase payments to be received from The Salk Institute for Biological Studies, San Diego, California (the “Salk Institute”), in an amount not to exceed $45,000,000. The Series 2010 Certificates will be executed and delivered for the purpose, among other things, of (i) financing the acquisition and construction of a central energy plant for the research facilities located at 10010 North Torrey Pines Road, La Jolla, California 92037 (the “Campus”) and other infrastructure and equipment acquisitions and improvements at the Campus and (ii) if market conditions permit, prepaying certain outstanding Certificates of Participation, executed and delivered on April 13, 2000 and currently outstanding in the principal amount of $12,920,000, the proceeds of which were used to finance the acquisition, construction and equipping of certain research facilities at the Campus. Certain costs of delivery will also be funded with proceeds of the Series 2010 Certificates. The research facilities on the Campus are owned and operated by the Salk Institute, an organization described in Section 501(c)(3) of the Code.
The Public Hearing will commence at 9:00 a.m., local time, or as soon thereafter as the matter can be heard and will be held at the Board of Supervisors Chambers, Room 310, 1600 Pacific Highway, San Diego, California. Interested persons wishing to express their views on the execution and delivery of the Series 2010 Certificates or on the nature and location of the facilities proposed to be financed or refinanced may attend the Public Hearing or, prior to the time of such hearing, submit written comments.
