NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS CALLING FOR BIDS

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Grossmont Union High School District of San Diego County, California, acting by and through its Governing Board, hereinafter referred to as the DISTRICT will receive up to, but not later than 2:00 o'clock p.m. of the 25th day of May, 2006, sealed bids for the award of a contract for Infrastructure - Phase 2A: Modernization at Helix High School, Bid No. GU-06.04.MDHL
Bids shall be received in the Purchasing Department of the Grossmont Union High School District located at 1100 Murray Drive, El Cajon, CA and shall be opened and publicly read aloud at the above stated time and place.
Each bid must conform and be responsive to the contract documents, copies of which are now on file and may be obtained after April 27, 2006, at the Bond Trailer located at 9600 Milden Street, La Mesa, CA 91942 of the Grossmont Union High School District. Please call 619-644-8142 for availability of plans and specs. A $150 refundable deposit will be collected for each set of specifications and drawings.
Each bid shall be accompanied by the security referred to in the contract documents, the non-collusion affidavit, the list of proposed subcontractors, and all additional documentation required by the Instructions to Bidders.
In contracts involving an expenditure in excess of $25,000, the successful bidder shall file a payment bond issued by an admitted Surety approved to conduct business in the State of California approved by the District in the form set forth in the contract documents.*
The District reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any irregularities or informalities in any bids or in the bidding.
The lowest bid shall be the lowest total of the bid prices on the base contract as set forth in the bid form.
The Director of Industrial Relations has determined the general prevailing rate of per diem wages in the locality in which this work is to be performed for each craft or type of worker needed to execute the contract which will be awarded to the successful bidder, copies of which are on file and will be made available to any interested party upon request. It shall be mandatory upon the Contractor to whom the contract is awarded, and upon any subcontractor under him, to pay not less than the said specified rates to all workers employed by them in the execution of the contract.
This bid is subject to Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise requirements. Minority, women, and disabled veteran contractors are encouraged to submit bids. Bidders must place an ad by Friday, May 16, 2006, to comply with DVBE regulations.
This contract is subject to a LABOR COMPLIANCE PROGRAM, as described in subdivision (b) of Section 1771.5 of the Labor Code. “Pursuant to Labor Code section 1771.7, the District implemented and shall enforce a Labor Compliance Program (LCP) approved by the Department of Industrial Relations on March 6, 2003, for this Project.” An LCP meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 20, at 9:30 a.m. in the District Administration Center, Conference Room No. 1, 1100 Murray Drive, El Cajon, CA 92020.
Each bidder shall be a licensed contractor pursuant to the Business and Professions Code and shall be licensed in the following classification: A - General Engineering Contractor.
A mandatory pre-bid conference and site walk will be held on Tuesday, May 9, at 9:30 a.m. in the District Administration Center, Conference Room No. 1, 1100 Murray Drive, El Cajon, CA 92020 for the purpose of acquainting all prospective bidders with the bid documents and the work site.
No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of sixty (60) days after the date set for the opening of bids.
*A payment bond must be filed for a contract involving an expenditure in excess of $25,000 (Civil Code section 3247(a)) and may be required for contracts involving smaller expenditures at the option of the District.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the National School District of San Diego County, California, acting by and through its Governing Board, hereinafter referred to as the DISTRICT will receive up to, but not later than 2:00 o'clock p.m. of the 12th day of May, 2006, sealed bids for the award of a contract for Modernization Project At Olivewood School, Bid No. 05-06.6MZ.
Bids shall be received in the Office of the Assistant Superintendent, Business Services of the National School District located at the National School District Administration Center, 1500 N Avenue, National City, CA and shall be opened and publicly read aloud at the above stated time and place.

Wetland Mitigation Project at Rancho Del Oro

Notice is hereby given that sealed bids will be received by the North San Diego County Transit Development Board (“NCTD”) at the NCTD offices, 810 Mission Avenue, Oceanside, CA 92054, up to 2 pm, Thursday, May 18, 2006 for the Wetland Mitigation Project At Rancho Del Oro.
Project Description:  This project is the second stage in construction of an offsite wetland mitigation project for the Sprinter Rail Project construction program.  The work includes the Installation Phase consisting of eradication of existing weeds, installation of an irrigation system and the planting and seeding of the site, and the Maintenance Phase consisting of the maintenance of the site for one year after completion and acceptance of the Installation Phase.
NOTE:   The above descriptions are for general information.  The Technical Specifications in Section 07 and Contract Drawings provide a complete and detailed description of the project scope.
Contractor’s License: 
The successful bidder shall possess, at the time the contract for the Project is awarded, the California Contractor’s License Classification A & C27.  Pursuant to California Public Contract Code section 20103.5, no bid submitted shall be invalidated by NCTD for failure of the bidder to be licensed in accordance with the laws of this state at the time of bid submittal.  Failure of the successful bidder to obtain proper and adequate licensing for award of the contract for the Project shall constitute a failure to execute the contract, and shall result in the forfeiture of its Bid Security, as required herein.
Engineers Estimate/Estimated Value of Work: 
The engineers estimate for this work is $600,000.00.
