Bids shall be received in the PURCHASING OFFICE OF CAJON VALLEY UNION SCHOOL DISTRICT located at 535 Vernon Way, El Cajon, CA 92020 and shall be opened and publicly read aloud at the above stated time and place.
A job walk will
be held on Wednesday, April 12, 2006, 9:30 a.m.
, Cajon Valley Middle School, 395 Ballantyne, El Cajon, CA 92020 for the purpose of acquainting all prospective bidders with the bid documents and the work site. It is imperative that all bidders attend this conference. Contractors are to meet by the construction trailer on the Park Avenue side of the school.
There is no engineer's estimate at this time for each bid. Questions regarding this bid should be directed to John Krueger, Construction Manager, West Coast Air Conditioning, (619) 561-8000.
Each bid must conform and be responsive to the contract documents. Bid packages and plans may be picked at the Purchasing Department, 535 Vernon Way, El Cajon, 92020, there will be no deposit. Bid packages and plans will also be available at the job walk.
Each bid shall be accompanied by the security referred to in the contract documents, the non-collusion affidavit, the list of proposed subcontractors, and all additional documentation required by the Instructions to Bidders.
Cajon Valley Union School District will require a payment bond issued by an admitted surety approved to conduct business in the State of California in the form set forth in the contract documents from the successful bidder regardless of the contract amount.
The District reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any irregularities or informalities in any bids or in the bidding.
Pursuant to Public Contract Code section 20103.8, should this bid solicitation include additive and/or deductive items, the lowest bid shall be the lowest bid price on the base bid plus all additive alternates, minus all deductive alternates.
The Director of Industrial Relations has determined the general prevailing rate of per diem wages in the locality in which this work is to be performed for each craft or type of worker needed to execute the contract which will be awarded to the successful bidder. Prevailing Wage Determinations are available on the Internet under the Director of Industrial Relation's website: http:///www.dir.ca.gov
It shall be mandatory upon the Contractor to whom the contract is awarded, and upon any subcontractor under him, to pay not less than the said specified rates to all workers employed by them in the execution of the contract.
Minority, women, and disabled veteran contractors are encouraged to submit bids , three percent (3%) participation is encouraged. Bidders are encouraged to publish ads in a trade paper and DVBE focus paper as a good faith effort and provide any documentation with their bid.
This contract is not subject to a labor compliance program, as described in subdivision (b) of Section 1771.5 of the Labor Code
Each bidder shall be a licensed contractor pursuant to the Business and Professions Code and shall be licensed in the following classification: C-12-Earthwork & Paving or A-General Engineering
No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of sixty (60) days after the date set for the opening of bids.

for Reprographic Services
The San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG) is soliciting bids from qualified firms for Reprographic (blueprint and copying) Services.
Responses for this bid are due by 4 p.m., Friday, May 5, 2006,
at SANDAG, 401 B Street, Suite 800, San Diego, 92101.
SANDAG is the San Diego region's transportation agency and, as such, is responsible for planning, design, and construction of many regional transportation projects. The purpose of this IFB is to establish a printing and copying contractor to support SANDAG and its projects. In addition, SANDAG produces many publications (general printing services) that require outsourcing of offset printing and related services. These publications include, but are not limited to, booklets, newsletters, brochures, posters, flyers, and reports. In addition, SANDAG also uses customary business products such as letterhead, envelopes, business cards, and forms that require outsourcing. SANDAG does have other Agreements in place for general printing services. The bidder awarded a contract resulting from this IFB may be asked to provide general printing services when they cannot be obtained through other Agreements.
