Phase 5 Group 7B of the Quieter Home Program involves sound attenuation
improvements for certain residences around San Diego International Airport. The project includes 100
dwelling units located on 20
residential properties. The project is a continuation to the work of a condominium community under a previous contract. All products used in this Contract are specified to match existing. Those products shall be of the same make, model, style, and color as that in place under the previous contract and are listed by name in the respective Divisions of the Special Provisions.
Sound attenuation improvements may include, but are not limited to, replacement of windows and exterior doors, finely detailed, field-executed finish carpentry, added
insulation and improvements to add air conditioning, ventilation, and electrical systems. The work will include the demolition and modification of existing construction to install new windows and doors and, in some cases, may require temporary weatherproof closures. This project includes treatment for non-historic units. Contractors wishing to bid this Project must demonstrate a minimum of three (3) years successful
experience in residential sound attenuation projects or a minimum of five (5) years successful experience in residential remodeling or renovation projects of equal scope.
The magnitude of this work is in the range of $2,580,000.00

This will be the only job site tour given, please ensure your attendance.
Parking: Do not park within the Condo Complex. Suggested parking is on Valeta, Famosa, Polack, or Worden Streets. The Clubhouse is located next to the pool.

In accordance with the provisions of the California State Labor Code, the Airport Authority has obtained the general prevailing rate of wages (which rate includes employer payments for health and welfare, vacation, pension and similar purposes) applicable to the work to be done, for straight time, overtime, Saturday, Sunday and holiday work. All labor employed on this project shall be paid no less than such minimum rates of wages.
It is the practice of the Airport Authority that certified Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs) shall have the maximum opportunity to participate in the performance of Airport Authority contracts. Certified DBEs with qualifying experience are encouraged to respond to the request for proposals/bids/quotes, etc.
Bidder shall file the bonds as required by the Contract and Civil Code section 3247. The provisions of Public Contract Code section 22300 apply to this Contract.
