Bids shall be received in the PURCHASING DEPARTMENT of the CAJON VALLEY UNION SCHOOL DISTRICT located at 225 Roanoke Road, El Cajon, CA 92020 and shall be opened and publicly read aloud at the above stated time and place.
A job walk will be held on Thursday, April 15, 2010, at 11:30 a.m. at 225 Roanoke Rd., El Cajon, CA  92020 in the Child Nutrition Department Kitchen for the purpose of acquainting all prospective bidders with the bid documents.  It is imperative that all bidders attend the job walk.

  Each bid must conform and be responsive to the contract documents.  One set of bid packages and plans will be available from the Purchasing Department, 225 Roanoke Road, El Cajon, CA 92020 for no deposit for B-General Contractors. 
Each bid shall be accompanied by the security referred to in the contract documents, the non-collusion affidavit, the list of proposed subcontractors, and all additional documentation required by the Instructions to Bidders.
  Cajon Valley Union School District will require a payment bond issued by an admitted surety approved to conduct business in the State of California in the form set forth in the contract documents from the successful bidder regardless of the contract amount.
  The District reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any irregularities or informalities in any bids or in the bidding.
  The Director of Industrial Relations has determined the general prevailing rate of per diem wages in the locality in which this work is to be performed for each craft or type of worker needed to execute the contract which will be awarded to the successful bidder.  Prevailing Wage Determinations are available on the Internet under the Director of Industrial Relation's website:   http:///www.dir.ca.gov
It shall be mandatory upon the Contractor to whom the contract is awarded, and upon any subcontractor under him, to pay not less than the said specified rates to all workers employed by them in the execution of the contract. 
  Minority, women, and disabled veteran contractors are encouraged to submit bids , three percent (3%) participation is encouraged.     Bidders are encouraged to publish ads in a trade paper and DVBE focus paper as a good faith effort and provide any documentation with their bid.
  Each bidder shall be a licensed contractor pursuant to the Business and Professions Code and shall be licensed as B-General. 
  No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of ninety (90) days after the date set for the opening of bids.

This contract is subject to a labor compliance program, as described in subdivision (b)of section 1771.5 of the Labor Code.
Each bidder shall be a licensed contractor pursuant to the California Business and Professions Code Section 7028.15 and Public Contract Code Section 3300, and shall be licensed in the following classification: B, C10, C20, C21, ASB/HAZ. Any bidder not so licensed at the time of the bid opening will be rejected as non-responsive.
Contractors shall have been in business under the same name and California contractor's license for a minimum of three (3) continuous years prior to bid opening.
Contractors shall provide a minimum of three (3) references for projects similar in scope, size and schedule, which have been successfully completed in the state of California in the last twelve (12) months.

Each bid must conform and be responsive to the contract documents. The contract documents are now available for no charge at the Cajon Valley Union School District website, www.cajonvalley.net, Click on "Quick Find", "Bids / Quotations", "Construction", "Bid #1315". The Cajon Valley Union School District is to be named as an additional insured. All qualified installers must be National Playground Safety Institute/Certified Playground Safety Inspection NPSI/CPSI certified and a Factory Certified Installer for Playworld Systems and provide documentation of both with bid documents.

Notice is hereby given by the Southwestern Community College District of San Diego County, California, hereinafter referred to as the District, acting by and through its Governing Board, will receive up to, but not later than 3:00 p.m. on the 13th day of May 2010, responses to this Request for Proposal (RFP) for Construction Management @ Risk at Southwestern Community College.
