NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the San Diego County Superintendent of Schools/San Diego County Office of Education; San Diego County, California, hereinafter referred to as the “County Office,” will receive up to, but not later than 10 o'clock a.m. on the 14 day of May 2008 sealed bids for the purpose of:

Such bids must be received by the Purchasing Supervisor, Internal Business Services Section of the County Office, IN ROOM 503, 6401 Linda Vista Road; San Diego, CA 92111.
A Mandatory/Must Attend PreBid Meeting will be held on May 1, 2008 at 10:00 am until 12:00 noon at the above address. Bring and review your bid documents. Failure to attend the prebid meeting will cause your bid to be rejected as nonresponsive.
Each bid must conform and be responsive to this notice, the Information for Bidders, and the Bid Specifications. Copies of the bid documents may be attained at the County Office.
Each bid shall be accompanied by a 10% security referred to in the contract documents, the noncollusion affidavit, the list of subcontractors, and all additional documentation required by the Instructions to Bidders.
The County Office reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any irregularities or informalities in the bids or in the bidding process.
No bidder may withdraw their bid for a period of sixty (60) days after the date set for the opening of bids.
The director of the Department of Industrial Relations has determined the general prevailing rate of per diem wages in the locality in which this work is to be performed for each craft or type of worker needed to execute the contract which will be awarded to the successful bidder, copies of which are on file and will be made available to any interested party on request at Department of Industrial Relations, Division of Labor Statistics and Research, Prevailing Wage Unit, P.O. Box 420603, San Francisco, CA 94142-0603 or at www.dir.ca.gov.
It shall be mandatory upon the contractor to whom the contract is awarded, and upon any subcontractor under them, to pay not less than the said specified rates to all workers employed by them in the execution of the contract.
This contract is___/is not XX subject to a labor compliance program, as described in subdivision (b) of Section 1771.5 of the Labor Code. “Pursuant to Labor Code section 1771.7, the District has implemented and shall enforce a Labor Compliance Program (LCP) approved by the Department of Industrial Relations for this Project.

The San Diego County Regional Airport Authority ("Authority") seeks proposals from firms or individuals with experience and expertise in live plant maintenance services. Requested services may include but not be limited to: design, provision, installation and maintenance of live plants and/or seasonal décor at San Diego International Airport. The recommended firm or individual shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, transportation and supervision necessary to perform all live plant maintenance services. The County of San Diego, Owner, invites sealed bids for EROSION MITIGATION PROJECT AT HELLHOLE CANYON OPEN SPACE PRESERVE, EL CAPITAN OPEN SPACE PRESERVE, AND WILLIAM HEISE COUNTY PARK; PROJECT NO. 1011440, 1011441 and 1011442; (BID NO. 2958).

Notice is hereby given that the Facilities Development Department of the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority (the “Airport Authority”) will receive sealed bids at 2320 Stillwater Road, San Diego, California, until 10:00 A.M. on May 9, 2008 for and bids will be opened in public immediately following the time for receipt referenced above, in the offices of the Facilities Development Department of the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority, 2320 Stillwater Road, San Diego, California.

Phase 3 Group 6 of the Quieter Home Program involves sound attenuation improvements for certain residences around San Diego International Airport. The project includes 35 dwellings units located on 30 residential properties.
Sound attenuation improvements may include, but are not be limited to, replacement of windows and exterior doors, adding storm windows, added insulation and improvements to add air conditioning, ventilation, and electrical systems. The project may include special treatment for historically significant structures. The work will include the demolition and modification of existing construction to install new windows and doors and, in some cases may require temporary weatherproof closures.
The magnitude of this work is in the range of $1,620,000. The bidder must possess a valid California State Contractors License, classification B at the time the contract is submitted.
Bids will be opened in public immediately following the time for receipt referenced above, in the PSA Conference Room at 2320 Stillwater Road, San Diego, California. No Bidder may withdraw a bid after the time and date set for bid opening.
A prebid conference will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. on April 23, 2008, in the PSA Conference Room, West Wing, San Diego, California. At the end of the conference, interested parties may visit the job site or, if indicated in the Special Conditions, make an appointment to visit the site. The Airport Authority's representative will be present at the prebid conference to receive questions. This will be the only job site tour given, please ensure your attendance. Failure to visit the job site shall be grounds for denial of claims for changed conditions.

In accordance with the provisions of the California State Labor Code, the Airport Authority has obtained the general prevailing rate of wages (which rate includes employer payments for health and welfare, vacation, pension and similar purposes) applicable to the work to be done, for straight time, overtime, Saturday, Sunday and holiday work. All labor employed on this project shall be paid no less than such minimum rates of wages.
It is the practice of the Airport Authority that certified Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs) shall have the maximum opportunity to participate in the performance of Airport Authority contracts. Certified DBEs with qualifying experience are encouraged to respond to the request for proposals/bids/quotes, etc.
Bidder shall file the bonds as required by the Contract and Civil Code section 3247. The provisions of Public Contract Code section 22300 apply to this Contract.
Bidders are hereby notified that the successful Bidder will be required to provide insurance in accordance with Section 1C-6.1, “Contractor's Insurance,” of the General Conditions.
In the public interest, the Airport Authority reserves the right to reject any or all bids, or to waive any informality in a bid.
