Notice is hereby given that the Purchasing Department, First Floor, of the San Diego Unified Port District will receive sealed bids at 3165 Pacific Highway, San Diego, California, until 2:00 P.M. on the 9th day of June 2005 for:
Specification No. 2005-01 - Drawing No. 1583

This Project provides for the removal and disposal of 18 vacant industrial buildings. Work includes the demolition of 18 buildings entirely down to the slab/paved surface. The structures identified for demolition are known to contain hazardous materials including, but not limited to, non-intact and intact lead paint, asbestos containing pipe wrap and insulation, roof penetration mastic, paint, stucco, electrical insulation blocks, corrugated panel sealant, wall and floor mastic, floor tile, joint compound, roof material, ceiling panels, window putty, and PCB-containing light ballasts, fluorescent tubes, air conditioning units, water coolers, mercury thermostats, mercury switches, wet transformers, and lead acid batteries.
The Work includes and, shall not be limited to, demolishing, removing, recycling and disposing of interior and exterior walls, stairs, partitions, doors, windows, and frames, ceilings, floor coverings, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and telephone systems, asbestos containing building materials, non-intact lead paint, PCB containing fluorescent light fixture ballasts, mercury switches, fencing and gates, and asphalt containment berms; erecting temporary fencing and gates; water quality protection; placing concrete slurry and asphalt; and performing other ancillary work, as shown on the Drawings, and as specified in these Specifications.
All components, equipment, pipelines, attached appurtenances, and utilities within and attached to the exterior of the structures listed above shall be removed, unless directed otherwise. All underground utilities serving the structures shall be cut off or disconnected at existing finished pavement surface, unless directed otherwise.
The magnitude of this work is in the range of $1,170,000.00 - $1,430,000.00.
The bidder must possess a valid California State Contractors License, Classification A or C-21 at the time the contract is submitted.
Bids will be opened in public at or about that hour at 3165 Pacific Highway, San Diego, California, all as more particularly contained in Document No. 48889 on file in the office of the Clerk of the District. No Bidder may withdraw a bid after the date set for bid opening.
A pre-bid conference will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on May 24, 2005, in Conference Room 1 at the District Administration Building.
Plans and specifications are available for download on Port of San Diego website, Plans and specifications may also be purchased for $15.00 per each set on or about May 10, 2005 during the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding District holidays, from the Purchasing Department, San Diego Unified Port District, P.O. Box 120488, San Diego, CA 92112-0488, or picked up in person at 3165 Pacific Highway, San Diego, California, Telephone Number (619) 686-6320. Shipment of plans and specifications by Federal Express is available at BidderÕs expense (please provide a completed airbill with your request). The purchase price and cost of shipment are not refundable. One set of plans and specifications will be made available by the District to local plan file services.

The San Diego Harbor Police, a division of the Unified Port of San Diego, in accordance with Section 526 of the Harbors and Navigation (H&N) Code, hereby give notice of intention to destroy the following unclaimed or unregistered vessels:

The first vessel is stored at the Harbor Police Shelter Island Sub-Station, 1401 Shelter Island Dr., San Diego, CA 92106. The second vessel is stored at the Port of San Diego Dry Storage Facility, 850 Lagoon Dr., Chula Vista, CA 91910.
