REVISIONS TO GUIDELINES FOR
DETERMINING SIGNIFICANCE AND TECHNICAL REPORT FORMAT AND CONTENT REQUIREMENTS

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the County of San Diego, Land Use and Environment Group (LUEG) is requesting public review of proposed revisions to Guidelines for Determining Significance as well as Report Format and Content Requirements for Biological Resources, Fire Protection Planning, and Mineral Resources. These documents are being circulated to obtain input from the public on the proposed revisions only. The Guidelines for Determining Significance and Report Format and Content Requirements can be reviewed online at:
http://www.sdcounty.ca.gov/dplu/bpr_index.html, or at the Department of Planning and Land Use (DPLU), Project Processing Counter, 5201 Ruffin Road, Suite B, San Diego, California 92123.
Guidelines for Determining Significance for Biological Resources, Fire Protection Planning, and Mineral Resources are used by County staff during the review of discretionary projects and environmental documents pursuant to the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) for projects within the unincorporated area of San Diego County. The Guidelines present a range of quantitative, qualitative, and performance levels for evaluating adverse environmental effects that a proposed project may have relative to those subject areas. The Report Format and Content Requirements are used by County staff and County approved CEQA consultants to help in the preparation of useful, organized, consistent, and legally adequate technical studies in a timely and cost efficient manner. Comments on the proposed revisions to the Guidelines for Determining Significance and/or Report Format and Content Requirements may be sent to the DPLU address listed above and should be forwarded to the attention of Mario Covic. Comments can also be forwarded via e-mail to Mario.Covic@sdcounty.ca.gov. Comments on the proposed revisions to the aforementioned documents must be received no later than June 16, 2008 at 4:00 p.m. (a 30-day public review period).
