The County of San Diego, Owner, invites bids for LAMAR STREET SLOPE REPAIRS ORACLE PROJECT No. 1017998; BID No. 6469.

Sealed bids will be received at the Department of Purchasing and Contracting, at 5560 Overland Avenue, Ste. 270, San Diego, 92123, until 2:00 PM on June 5, 2014, at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud. The County of San Diego, Owner, invites sealed bids for DON DUSSAULT PARK IMPROVEMENTS; PROJECT NO. 1015519; (BID No. 6486).

Sealed bids will be received at the Office of Purchasing and Contracting, 5560 Overland Avenue, Suite 270, San Diego, California, 92123, until 2:00 p.m. on JUNE 17, 2014, at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud. Contract documents including Plans, Specifications and Bid Forms are available to be downloaded, free of charge, from the Department of Purchasing and Contracting BuyNet website at: http://buynet.sdcounty.ca.gov.
The Contractor shall possess, at the time of submitting the bid, a California contractor's license, Classification A, General Engineering Contractor. Work to be done includes, in general, furnish all labor, equipment and materials for the demolition of flatwork, rubber playground surfacing, footings and existing playground etc., salvage of existing, new construction of a single ADA parking area, minor grading and drainage, modular retaining wall, electrical, playground, park furnishings, survey, landscape and irrigation. The additive alternate item to this project is a shade pavilion.

An on-sight pre-bid conference (non-mandatory) will take place on June 4, 2014 at 11:00 AM. The project is located at Don Dussault County Park, 8320 Alturas St., Fallbrook, CA 92028.

The cost of construction is estimated to be from $175,000 to $215,000. Bid security of no less than 10% required at time of bid. Notice is hereby given that the Procurement Department of the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority (the “Authority”) will receive sealed bids at San Diego County Regional Airport Authority, Reception Desk, Commuter Terminal, 3rd floor, 3225 North Harbor Drive, San Diego, CA 92101 until 2:00 p.m. on June 5, 2014 for:

The magnitude of this work is in the range of $1,015,000.00. The bidder shall possess a valid California State Contractors License, classification B and shall also be certified by the Environmental Protection Agency as a Renovation Firm as defined by 40 CFR 745, Subpart E § 745.89 - Firm Certification at the time the Bid is submitted.

In addition, the contract work includes removal and disposal of asbestos-containing building materials. Bidder is not permitted to perform any asbestos-related work unless bidder possesses a California State Contractor’s License and is certified pursuant to Section 7058.6 of the California State Business and Professions Code. If a certified subcontractor is used, the subcontractor’s license and certification number shall be submitted by the bidder within the Bid Submission Documents.

The project includes sound attenuation improvements for certain residences around San Diego International Airport. The project includes 23 dwelling units located on 13 residential properties. Sound attenuation improvements may include, but are not limited to, replacement of windows and exterior doors, finely detailed, field-executed finish carpentry, added insulation and improvements to add air conditioning, ventilation, and electrical systems. The work will include the demolition and modification of existing construction to install new windows and doors and, in some cases, may require temporary weatherproof closures.

This project includes special treatment for “Potentially Historically” significant units. Contractors wishing to bid this Project must demonstrate a minimum of three (3) years successful experience in residential sound attenuating projects, specifically working on “Potentially Historic” homes, or a minimum of five (5) years successful experience in residential historic renovation projects of equal scope.

A mandatory pre-bid conference shall begin promptly at 2:00 p.m. on May 22, 2014 in the Conference Room at the Quieter Home Program office, Liberty Station Complex, 2722 Truxtun Road, San Diego, CA 92106. At the end of the conference, there will be a mandatory job site visit to tour a small number of homes that are representational of the overall scope of the anticipated work. Only potential Bidders who have signed all sign-in sheet(s), and attended the mandatory pre-bid meeting and job site visit, will be allowed to submit a bid for this project.

All questions relating to the information contained in the Request for Bid shall be set forth in writing and shall be directed to the Procurement Department Representative via email. Questions will be received until 2:00 p.m. on May 30, 2014. Any questions received after that time and date will not be considered.
