San Diego Workforce Partnership, Inc. (SDWP) issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) to interested applicants with experience in providing layoff aversion services (LAS) to San Diego County. LAS may include: helping companies practice continuous improvement in processes and quality; helping companies find opportunities for new products, customers, markets, and business models; or working with businesses to assess risks and propose strategies to address those risks. The purpose of the LAS program is to ultimately retain jobs in San Diego.

Interested and qualified organizations that have the required experience are invited to submit a “Notice of Intent to Respond” by Tuesday, June 4, 2013, and a proposal in accordance with the instructions outlined in the RFP. Please note that proposers must be available on June 28 if selected for interviews.

Proposals are due no later than Thursday, June 13, 2013 at 3 PM PDT.

All bidders are required to respond to a Request for Qualifications (RFQUAL), and submit a Statement of Qualification (SOQ) by June 7, 2013. The RFQUAL is available online with the RFP at http://workforce.org/rfps-open .You may also e-mail Evelyn Ramirez at the address given above to seek information regarding RFQUALs and SOQs.

All questions regarding the details of this RFP are to be addressed by email to Evelyn@workforce.org. The deadline for submitting questions is June 5, 2013 at 5PM. Answers to questions received will be posted on the SDWP website no later than June 10, 2013.

City Heights II Family Health Center - Physical Therapy Tenant Improvement

Family Health Centers of San Diego (owner) invites sealed bids from general contractors for providing the labor and materials necessary for completion of a 1,457 square foot tenant improvement.

Funding for this project may include a grant from the Affordable Care Act - Capital Development Program. Affordable Care Act funding for Phase II of the City Heights Family Health Center project amounts to $3,432,179 comprising one-hundred percent of the total estimated budget for that phase of construction.

Plans, forms of proposals, bonds, contract special provisions, and specifications will be available after 12:00pm on May 28, 2013 via email addressed to Brian Tisher at briant@fhcsd.org.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that La Mesa-Spring Valley School District, of San Diego County, California, acting by and through its Governing Board, hereinafter referred to as the District, will receive up to, but not later than   2:00   o'clock p.m. of  the 4TH   day of  June, 2013, sealed bids for the award of contract;

Bids shall be received in the office of the Business Services, Purchasing Department of the District at 4750 Date Avenue, La Mesa, California 91942, and shall be opened and publicly read aloud at the above-stated time and place.  Any bid received by the District after the Bid Deadline shall be returned to the bidder unopened.
 
Each bid must conform and be responsive to the contract documents, copies of which are now on file and may be obtained for a fee on May 17, 2013 at the Purchasing Department 4750 Date Avenue, La Mesa, California 91942 or e-mailed at no cost.

Bids must be submitted on the Bid form provided by the District and included in the bid documents. Each bid must strictly conform with and be responsive to this Notice Calling for Bids, the Instructions for Bidders, and other Contract Documents. The District reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any irregularities or informalities in any bids or in the bidding. Except as provided in Public Contract Code Section 5100 et seq., no bidder may withdraw a bid for a period of sixty (60) calendar days after the opening of the bids.
 
The Director of Industrial Relations has determined the GENERAL PREVAILING RATE OF PER DIEM WAGES in the locality in which this work is to be performed for each craft or type of worker needed to execute the contract which will be awarded to the successful bidder, copies of which are available to any interested party on request by contacting the Director of Industrial Relations, telephone number (415) 703-4774 or at www.dir.ca.gov.                                     
 
It shall be mandatory upon the Contractor to whom the contract is awarded, and upon any subcontractor under him, to pay not less than the said specified rates to all workers employed by them in the execution of the contract.

The District may have made a finding that certain brand or trade names are necessary in order to maintain conformity among its campuses, compatibility with existing systems and to streamline maintenance and parts storage.  A copy of the resolution is incorporated in the bid documents under Specifications
 
The successful bidder will be required to provide both a performance bond and a separate payment bond, each in an amount equal to 100% of the total contract amount.  The forms of the bonds are set forth in the Contract Documents and all bonds must be issued by a California-admitted surety as defined in California Code of Civil Procedure Section 995.120.

Notice is hereby given that proposals will be received by the North County Transit District at 810 Mission Avenue, Oceanside, CA 92054, up to 5:00pm, Wednesday, May 31, 2013 for On Call Marketing, Communications, Outreach, and Public Relations Support.

This work is on an as-needed basis, and there is no commitment from NCTD to provide enough work to keep consultant personnel on a full-time basis.  However, general experience indicates that the level of consultant services be approximately $1,000,000 per year, inclusive of subconsultants.
