Notice is hereby given that the Board of Trustees of the LAKESIDE UNION SCHOOL DISTRICT, Lakeside, CA, acting by and through its governing board, will receive sealed bids for the furnishing of all labor, materials, transportation, equipment, and services for the LINDO PARK ELEMENTARY PLAYGROUND UPGRADE PROJECT in Lakeside, CA, 92040. Value of contract is approx.. $100k.

Each bidder shall be a licensed contractor pursuant to the Business and Professional Code and shall be licensed in the following classification: B.

Each bid must conform and be responsive to the contract documents. Copies of the documents may be obtained at Mayer Reprographics and information can be obtained online at www.mayer.com, by selecting “Projects Bidding”, and then selecting the folder for the project. All printing orders require a minimum of 24 hours to complete. Copies to be purchased at bidder's non-refundable expense.

A non-mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held May 28, 2013, 2:30 p.m. at Lindo Park ES, 12824 Lakeshore Dr, Lakeside, CA 92040.

All bids will be received by the District at 12335 Woodside Ave., Lakeside, CA 92040 no later than, 2:00 p.m. on June 5, 2013 at which time bids will be opened and publicly read aloud.

WAGES: The Director of the Department of Industrial Relations has determined the general prevailing rate of per diem wages in the locality in which this public work is to be performed for each craft, classification, or type of worker needed to execute the contract. Wage rates can be found at on the California Department of Industrial Relations web site at: www.dir.ca.gov/dlsr.

Each bid shall be submitted on the bid form provided in the bid documents. Each bid shall be accompanied by a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the bidder and surety company, or certified check, or cashier's check in favor of the Lakeside Union School District, or cash, in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the bid. Said Bid Bond shall be given to guarantee that the bidder will execute the contract as specified, within three (3) working days after the notification of the award of the contract to bidder. Payment and Performance bonds shall be required.

The District reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any irregularities or informalities in any bids or in the bidding. No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of 30 days after the date set for the opening of bids. For questions, please contact clancaster@lsusd.net .

REQUIRED BID SECURITY: Each bid must be submitted with security in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the maximum bid amount as a guarantee that the bidder will enter into the proposed contract, if awarded to the bidder, and will provide the performance and payment bonds, insurance certificates and other documents described in the Contract Documents. Such security must be in one of the following forms: (1) a cashier's check made payable to the District; (2) a certified check made payable to the District; or (3) a bond made payable to the District in the form set forth in the Contract Documents. REQUIRED CONTRACTOR LICENSE: The class(es) of California contractor's license(s) required in order to bid on and perform the contract for this Project is:

MANDATORY PRE-BID CONFERENCE AND SITE VISIT:
The District will conduct a pre-bid conferences and site visits on June 4, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. for the purpose of acquainting all prospective bidders with the bid documents and the work site. Attendance is mandatory, and any bidder that does not attend will be disqualified from work on the Project. The pre-bid conference(s) will begin at the Grossmont High School Flag Pole, 1100 Murray Drive, El Cajon, CA 92020 and move on to the project site.

DISTRICT STANDARDS: The District has made a finding that certain brand or trade names are necessary in order to maintain conformity among its campuses, compatibility with existing systems, and to streamline maintenance and parts storage. A copy of the resolution is incorporated in the bid documents under Specifications.

PERFORMANCE AND PAYMENT BONDS: The successful bidder will be required to provide both a performance bond and a separate payment bond, each in an amount equal to 100% of the total contract amount. The forms of the bonds are set forth in the Contract Documents and all bonds must be issued by a California-admitted surety as defined in California Code of Civil Procedure Section 995.120.

PREVAILING WAGES: The successful bidder and each of its subcontractors of any tier will be required to pay not less than the general prevailing rates of per-diem wages in the locality in which the work is to be performed for each craft or type of worker needed to execute the contract (“Prevailing Wages”). A copy of the per-diem rates of Prevailing Wages applicable to the Project is on file and available for review at the location specified above as the place for submitting bids, and a copy will be posted at the site of the Project.

Estimated Construction Cost: $536,000 - $619,000
