Notice is hereby given that the San Diego Unified School District, acting by and through its governing board, will receive sealed bids for the furnishing of all labor, materials, transportation, equipment, and services to:

FURNISH AND INSTALL TANDUS CARPETING ON AN AS-NEEDED BASIS (IDIQ)

A mandatory pre-bid meeting is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on JUNE 7, 2012
at the Strategic Sourcing and Contracts Department, 2351 Cardinal Lane, San Diego, CA 92123. PLEASE SEE BID FOR DETAILS. (No.CC-13-0051-57)

All bids must be received at or before 1:00 p.m. on JUNE 20, 2012, at the Strategic Sourcing and Contracts Dept., 2351 Cardinal Lane, Bldg. M, San Diego, CA 92123, at which time bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.

Under Public Contract Code 3400, the District has made a finding that the following particular materials, products, things, or services are designated by specific brand or trade name in order to match other products in use on the particular public improvement either completed or in the course of completion:

The project is has an estimate range of $350,000 to $450,000. This is not a PSA project. The District requires that Bidders possess any of the following classification(s) of California State Contractors License(s), valid and in good standing, at the time of bid opening and contract award: C-15.

All late bids shall be deemed non-responsive and not opened. Each bid shall be in accordance with all terms, conditions, plans, specifications and any other documents that comprise the bid package. All bids shall be submitted on bid forms furnished by the District in the bid package that may be obtained from C2 Reprographics, 4920 Carroll Canyon Road, San Diego, CA 92121, telephone number (858) 535-0607, beginning May 29, 2012. A deposit (checks only) of $100 for each bid package is required and checks shall be made payable to the San Diego Unified School District. The deposit is refundable according to the conditions outlined in the bid package. Contractors may purchase CD's for $50 (non-refundable check only). Bid packages will not be faxed.

As of January 1, 2012, the San Diego Unified School District will no longer administer the in-house Labor Compliance Program for all new construction projects. Prevailing wage requirements will still apply to all public works projects and must be followed per Article 18 of the General Conditions of this bid.

WAGES: The Director of the Department of Industrial Relations has determined the general prevailing rate of per diem wages in the locality in which this public work is to be performed for each craft, classification, or type of worker needed to execute the contract. Copies of that determination are available at the District's Labor Compliance Office for interested parties upon request; or may be found on the internet at: http://www.dir.ca.gov/DLSR/PWD. It shall be mandatory upon the contractor to whom this contract is awarded and upon any subcontractor under him to pay not less than the said specified rates to all laborers, workmen, and mechanics employed by them in the execution of the contract.

DISABLED VETERAN BUSINESS ENTERPRISE PARTICIPATION PROGRAM: Pursuant to Resolution In Support of Service Disabled Veterans Owned Businesses (SDVOB) and Disabled Veteran Business Enterprises (DVBE) approved on May 10, 2011 by the Board of Education, the Bidder is required to satisfy a minimum DVBE participation percentage of at least three percent (3%) for this project. In compliance with this Program, the Bidder shall satisfy all requirements enumerated in the bid package.

Each bid must be submitted on the Bid Form provided in the bid package and shall be accompanied by a satisfactory bid security in the form of either a bid bond executed by the bidder and Surety Company, or a certified or cashier's check in favor of the San Diego Unified School District, in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of their bid value. Said bid security shall be given to guarantee that the Bidder will execute the contract as specified, within five (5) working days of notification by the District.

FOR HAZARDOUS MATERIALS TESTING SERVICES

Notice is hereby given that the San Diego Unified School District of San Diego, CA (District) is soliciting written qualifications from firms desiring to provide hazardous materials testing services to the District. The scope of work intended for interested firms includes, but is not limited to: environmental and laboratory services for asbestos containing materials and lead based paint for school sites as-needed throughout San Diego Unified School District. This process will create a list of qualified firms available for use during the next 12 months. Individual Notices to Proceed will be issued by project. The anticipated annual contract value is $100,000.

Participation by historically underrepresented, emerging, and disabled veteran-owned business enterprises are encouraged to respond. All respondents shall be required to comply with the requirements of California Public Contract Code Section 10115 et. seq. and California Veterans Code Section 999 et. seq.

The RFQ package is available through the Strategic Sourcing and Contracts Department. To request a package, please email your request for package PS-90-075-57, including your name, firm name, address, phone and fax information to Kim Abrams at kabrams@ sandi.net.
