The County of San Diego, Owner, invites sealed bids for CONSTRUCTION OF COLLIER WAY BRIDGE REPLACEMENT OVER HARBISION CANYON CREEK, (RFB 1366). Sealed bids will be received at the Office of Purchasing and Contracting, Lobby Front Desk, County Operations Center, 5555 Overland Avenue, Suite 1111 (Bldg 11), San Diego, California, 92123-2149, until 2:00 p.m. on June 27, 2006, at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud. The Contractor shall possess, at the time the Contract is awarded, a California contractor's license, Classification A, General Engineering Contractor. Work to be done consists in general of removing the existing single span concrete bridge and construction of new single span reinforced concrete slab bridge with diaphragm abutments, grading Harbison Canyon Creek and installing articulated concrete blocks and high performance turf reinforcement mat for slope protection and reconstruction of the roadway approaches on Collier Way. The work includes earthwork, placing aggregate base, asphalt concrete, asphalt concrete dike, structural concrete and bar reinforcing steel, constructing concrete catch basins, cleanout and cutoff wall, installing reinforced concrete pipe and welded steel pipe casing, constructing concrete railing, constructing metal beam guard railing and tubular hand railing, constructing crash cushion, painting traffic stripe, providing traffic control and implementing water pollution control measures. The project is located in the vicinity of Harbison Canyon. The cost of construction is estimated to be from $900,000 to $1,100,000. Contract Documents, including reduced Plans only, Specifications and Proposal Forms, may be examined or purchased for the sum of $30 per set at the County of San Diego, Department of Purchasing and Contracting, Cashier, Building 11 (MS O32), County Operations Center, 5555 Overland Avenue, Suite 1111, San Diego, CA 92123-1249. Full-size plans may be obtained at the Dept of Purchasing and Contracting, referenced above, at an additional cost of $9 per set. Only complete sets of full-size plans will be sold. Full-size plans will not be sent to full-size plan holders when plans are revised and issued as addenda unless re-ordered. Only revised reduced plans will be issued as necessary with addenda. Full-size plans will contain only the revisions made to the plans at the time of issuance. The following report is available for review only at the Department of Public Works, Bldg 6, County Operations Center, 5555 Overland Ave, San Diego, CA 92123. A cross sections pkg (8 sheets) used in the design of this project is available for review or purchase at a cost of $4 at the Department of Purchasing and Contracting, location referenced above. This project is subject to Title 49, Code of Federal Regulations part 26 (49 CFR 26) entitled "Participation by Disadvantaged Business Enterprises in Department of Transportation Financial Assistance Programs." In order to ensure Caltrans achieves its federally mandated statewide overall DBE goal, the Agency encourages the participation of Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs), as defined in 49 CFE 26 in the performance of contracts financed in whole or in part with Federal Funds. The Contractor shall not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, or sex in the award and performance of contracts. The County of San Diego, Owner, invites sealed bids for GOODAN RANCH FIRE RECOVERY PROJECT; PROJECT NO. 1007477 (RFB 1517).
Sealed bids will be received at the Office of Purchasing and Contracting, Building 11, County Operations Center, 5555 Overland Avenue, San Diego, California, 92123, until 2:00 p.m. on JULY 12, 2006, at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud. A pre-bid meeting is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on June 27, 2006 at the project site, Sycamore Canyon/Goodan Ranch Preserve, 16281 Sycamore Canyon Road, San Diego, CA 92071 (Thomas Guide Pg. 1211/C7). All Contractors meet at Upper Staging Area to park. Contract documents may be examined or purchased for the sum of $50.00 per set at the Office of Purchasing and Contracting. Contractor license requirement is “A”, General Engineering Contractor; or “B”, General Contractor. Cost estimate of construction is $1,300,000 to $1,500,000. Bid security of no less than 10% required at time of bid. Successful bidder shall provide Payment and Performance Bonds for 100% of the contract amount. Prevailing Wage rates apply.
