PUBLIC NOTICE OF A PROPOSED MITIGATED NEGATIVE
DECLARATION

A draft Mitigated Negative Declaration has been prepared by the City of San Diego Land Development Review Division for the project listed below. Written comments regarding the adequacy of this draft Mitigated Negative Declaration must be received by the Land Development Review Division at the address below by July 17, 2003. This notice was/will be published in the SAN DIEGO DAILY TRANSCRIPT and distributed on June 17, 2003.
Subject: Resco Self-Storage (a.k.a Shurgard South Bay Self Storage). PLANNED DEVELOPMENT (PDP), SITE DEVELOPMENT PERMIT (SDP), and COASTAL DEVELOPMENT PERMIT (CDP) to demolish an existing tire shop, miscellaneous structures, and concrete pads, and construct one two-story self-storage building. The approximately 70,550-square-foot self-storage facility would consist of 544 storage units ranging in size from five-feet by five-feet and ten-feet by thirty-feet, and a 1,034-square-foot office area on a 1.63-acre lot. The proposed project is located at 1714 Palm Avenue, between 16th and 18th Streets, within the Otay Mesa-Nestor Community Plan area. Applicant: Stanley Cook, Resco Self-Storage L.L.C.

This recommended finding that the project will not have a significant effect on the environment is based on project revisions/conditions which now mitigate potentially significant environmental impacts in the following areas: Biological Resources, Historical Resources (Archaeology), Human Health and Public Safety, Water Quality/Hydrology, and Land Use. The draft Mitigated Negative Declaration, Initial Study, and supporting documents may be reviewed, or purchased for the cost of reproduction, at the office of the Land Development Review Division, 1222 First Avenue, Fifth Floor, San Diego, CA 92101.
