The San Diego Unified School District will receive sealed bids for furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, transportation, and services for:
ADA IMPROVEMENTS AT THE
CHILDREN'S SCHOOL
(SCRIPPS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL LEASED SITE)
Mandatory site visit is scheduled for June 19, 2008, starting at 9:00 a.m., in front of the main office of The Children's School (Scripps ES), 2225 Torrey Pines Lane, San Diego, CA 92037. PLEASE SEE BID FOR DETAILS. (Bid No. C89-007-LH)
The project estimate is between $280,000 and $350,000. The District requires that Bidders possess any of the following classification(s) of California Contractors License at the time that the Contract for Work is awarded: A or B or other appropriate license.
Bids will be received by the District at the Physical Plant Operations Center, 4860 Ruffner Street, San Diego, California 92111, on July 10, 2008, at 2:00 p.m., at which time the bids will be opened and publicly read aloud. Each bid shall be in accordance with specifications, plans, and other contract documents now on file at the Contracts Management Office. Each bid shall be submitted on a bid form furnished by the District. Bid forms and other pertinent documents may be obtained from Universal Reprographics, 1747 Hancock Street, Suite E, San Diego, CA 92101 telephone number (619) 295-7882, beginning June 10, 2008. A deposit of $50.00 for each bid set is required. Checks for deposit will be required, made payable to the San Diego Unified School District. This deposit is refundable according to the conditions outlined in the bid documents. Bid documents will not be faxed.
Bidders are hereby notified that pursuant to the statutes of the State of California, the director of the Department of Industrial Relations has determined the general prevailing rate of per diem wages in the locality in which this type of work is to be performed for each craft or type of worker needed to execute the contract which will be awarded to the successful bidder.
It shall be mandatory upon the contractor to whom this contract is awarded and upon any subcontractor under him to pay not less than the said specified rates to all laborers, workmen, and mechanics employed by them in the execution of the contract.
The San Diego Unified School District reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to accept or reject any one or more items of any bid, or to waive any irregularities, or informalities in the bids, or in the bidding.
Attention is called to the fact that a list of proposed subcontractors must be submitted with the bid.
No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of ninety (90) days after the date and time set for the opening of bids.

UPGRADE BOILER SYSTEM AT
STEVENSON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
(HORIZON ACADEMY)
Mandatory site visit is scheduled for June 20th, 2008, starting at 9:00 a.m., in front of the main office of Stevenson Elementary School (Horizon Academy), 4520 Pocahontas Avenue, San Diego, CA 92117. Subject to requirements of the Specifications, the fire alarm system shall be Honeywell Notifier Fire Alarm System only, to be compatible with existing equipment at the school.
