Notice is hereby given that the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority (the “Authority”) will receive sealed bids at San Diego County Regional Airport Authority, Commuter Terminal, 3rd Floor Reception Desk, 3225 North Harbor Drive, San Diego, CA 92101 until 2:00 p.m., July 24, 2014 for:

The magnitude of this work is in the range of $7,000,000.00. The bidder shall possess a valid California State Contractors License, classification, A at the time the Contract is awarded by the Authority Board.

This project includes construction of approximately 1,170 feet of a new Taxiway to connect Taxiway “H” and Taxiway “C,” and relocation of approximately 1,130 feet vehicle service road in every detail of the Work described, which includes demolition, grading, concrete and asphalt concrete paving, marking, signing, lighting, storm drain system, and all other items as shown on the drawings and specified in the specifications.

The disturbed area is approximately 6 acres. The location of the Work is on the north side of the San Diego International Airport and south of the Pacific Coast Highway. The entire work will be inside the existing Air Operation Area.

A mandatory pre-bid conference will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., July 1, 2014, at San Diego County Regional Airport Authority, Board Room, Commuter Terminal, 3rd Floor, 3225 North Harbor Drive, San Diego, CA 92101. At the end of the conference, interested parties may visit the job site. This will be the only job site tour given, please ensure your attendance. Failure to visit the job site shall be grounds for denial of claims for changed conditions.

All questions relating to the information contained in the Request for Bid shall be set forth in writing and shall be directed to the Procurement Department Representative via email. Questions will be received until, 5:00 p.m., July 7, 2014. Any questions received after that time and date will not be considered. Bids will be opened in public immediately following the time for receipt referenced above, in the Board Room, Commuter Terminal, 3rd Floor, 3225 North Harbor Drive, San Diego, CA 92101. No Bidder may withdraw a bid after the time and date set for bid opening.

It is the practice of the Authority that certified Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs) shall have the maximum opportunity to participate in the performance of Authority contracts. Notice is hereby given that the Facilities Development Department of the San Diego
County Regional Airport Authority (the ìAuthorityî) will receive sealed bids at San Diego County Regional Airport Authority Commuter Terminal 3rd Floor Reception Desk, located at 3225 North Harbor Drive, San Diego, California, until 2:00 P.M. on July 24, 2014, for:

The magnitude of this work is in the range of $1,693,468.00. The bidder shall possess a valid California State Contractors License, classification B and shall also be certified by the Environmental Protection Agency as a Renovation Firm as defined by 40 CFR 745, Subpart E ß 745.89 - Firm Certification at the time the Bid is submitted.

The project includes sound attenuation improvements for certain residences around San Diego International Airport. The project includes 43 dwelling units located on 29
residential properties. Sound attenuation improvements may include, but are not limited to, replacement of windows and exterior doors, finely detailed, field-executed finish carpentry, added insulation and improvements to add air conditioning, ventilation, and electrical systems. The work will include the demolition and modification of existing construction to install new windows and doors and, in some cases, may require temporary weatherproof closures.

This project includes special treatment for “Potentially Historically” significant units. Contractors wishing to bid this Project must demonstrate a minimum of three (3) years successful experience in residential sound attenuating projects, specifically working on ìPotentially Historicî homes, or a minimum of five (5) years successful experience in residential historic renovation projects of equal scope.

A mandatory pre-bid conference shall begin promptly at 2:00 p.m. on July 10, 2014 in the Conference Room at the Quieter Home Program office, Liberty Station Complex, 2722 Truxtun Road, San Diego, CA 92106. At the end of the conference, there will be a mandatory job site visit to tour a small number of homes that are representational of the overall scope of the anticipated work. Only potential Bidders who have signed all sign-in sheet(s), and attended the mandatory pre-bid meeting and job site visit, will be allowed to submit a bid for this project.
