The SAN DIEGO ASSOCIATION OF GOVERNMENTS (SANDAG), 401 B Street, Suite 800, San Diego, CA 92101-4231, is requesting bids to perform the work, in general, as follows:  asbestos abatement, abandonment of utilities, demolition and removal of building structure, removal of AC pavement, curb and gutter, sidewalk and concrete pavement; grading and construction of Class 2 aggregate base and asphalt concrete paving, coal tar emulsion slurry seal, PCC Pavement, and concrete masonry unit screen wall; striping and signage; drainage, sewer, and water improvements; traffic control; disconnect and reinstall new air compressor unit, install new generator unit, installation of new lighting standards and fixtures including all electrical work, and procuring all materials and performing all other work necessary to complete the work in accordance with the Project BUS-1048500 & 1049600 plans and Special Provisions.

SANDAG may, at the Engineer’s direction, require the contractor to perform the following supplemental work, which consists, in general, of electrical and mechanical modifications of existing mechanical ventilation and gas and flame detection systems in the Imperial Avenue Division (IAD) service lanes building to meet the requirements of the City of San Diego Fire Department Design and Installation of a fire sprinkler system to meet Extra Hazard, Group 1 requirements.  Installation of a fire service line and backflow prevention system to serve the sprinkler system. Removal and Replacement of existing electrical devices for upgrading to Class 1, Division 2, explosion-proof status. Removal and Replacement of existing building materials to fire-rated materials, including drywall, doors, and windows. The price for supplemental work will be in accordance with Section 4-1.03 “Changes” of the Standard Specifications using contract unit prices as applicable.

The engineer’s estimate is $1,503,500. This project is race neutral (there is no DBE goal). A prebid meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 13, 2006, at 2:30 p.m. at SANDAG. Plans, specifications, and bid forms may be secured only at SANDAG at the above address, attention: Engineering Proposal/Project Information (619?699?6999), at a cost of $35 for full size plans and specs (includes California sales tax). Make your check payable to SANDAG. If shipping is requested, you must furnish your firm’s FedEx account number against which shipment is to be arranged. Ask for the South Bay/East County Maintenance Facilities Project Rebid (BUS-1048500 & 1049600) bid package. Bid packages may be reviewed at SANDAG and/or the Contracting Opportunities Center (619?285?7020) located at 4007 Camino Del Rio South, Suite 210, San Diego, CA.

Bids must be received by 2:30 p.m., on Tuesday, July 11, 2006, at SANDAG, on the 7th Floor, attention: Louise Torio. Bids arriving later than 2:30 p.m., or at a location other than 401 B Street, 7th Floor, will not be considered.

FOR ENGINEERING DESIGN SERVICES

The Santa Fe Irrigation District (District) is requesting proposals from qualified firms to provide Engineering Design Services for the District's Capital Improvement Projects. This will be an initial three (3) year agreement with the option of two consecutive one (1) year agreements. The District is located at 5920 Linea del Cielo, Rancho Santa Fe, California 92067.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK: In general, the consultant shall perform professional engineering design services for various District capital projects. This is on an “as-needed” basis with an initial three (3) year agreement and having the option of two consecutive one (1) year agreements. Services required under this agreement include preliminary design review, final design, bidding assistance, and engineering support during construction. The scope of work does not include construction management or environmental services.

The City of Del Mar would like to receive proposals for SEWER VACUUM TRUCK, LINE PLUG INSTALLATIONS AND SEWER WET WELL CLEANING AT CITY OF DEL MAR'S 21ST STREET LIFT STATION.

Sealed proposals will be received at the office of the City Clerk, City of Del Mar, located at 1050 Camino Del Mar, Del Mar, California until 2:00 P.M., on Monday, June 26, 2006, at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud at said office. Mailed bids will be addressed to: City Clerk (SEWER VACUUM TRUCK, LINE PLUG INSTALLATIONS AND SEWER WET WELL CLEANING AT CITY OF DEL MAR'S 21ST STREET LIFT STATION), 1050 Camino Del Mar, Del Mar, CA 92014.

Prior to bid opening of June 26, 2006, a mandatory pre-bid conference will be held at 9:00 AM on Wednesday, June 14, 2006, at the 21st street Lift Station, to clarify work requirements in bid.

Contract bid includes:
Preconstruction meeting with Contractor and vacuum truck Operator on Thursday July 6th at 8 AM at the 21st Street Lift Station to pre-plan contract activities. Items covered will be limited work time lines, locations of vacuum truck staging, disposal of sewage, wet well cleaning, and 21 inch sewer main line plug locations.

Contract term: After the initial one (1) year Contract period, the City may desire to exercise an option to renew the Contract up to four additional one (1) year periods.
