NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS CALLING FOR BIDS
that the Dehesa School District of San Diego County, California, acting by and through its Governing Board, hereinafter referred to as the DISTRICT will receive up to, but not later than 2:00 PM of the 12th day of June, 2008, sealed bids for the award of a contract for Voice/Data/Fiber Infrastructure Project, Bid No. 07-08-101. Scope:
The Dehesa School District is upgrading its network infrastructure. This project will include all labor, equipment and materials necessary for providing a complete voice/data/fiber system as described herein and/or as indicated on the drawings. This document specifies the labor and materials to install the cable plant. It includes the installation, termination and testing of cables. Note:
Completion of this contract requires a service provider to install equipment and cabling which will increase the scope of this bid and cause it to become subject to public works bidding requirements.
Bids shall be received in the Office of the Business Manager of the Dehesa School District located at 4612 Dehesa Road, El Cajon, CA and shall be opened and publicly read aloud at the Multi-Purpose Room of such district.
Each bid must conform and be responsive to the contract documents, copies of which are now on file and may be obtained on May 29, 2008 at Mayer Reprographics located at 1065 University Avenue, San Diego, CA 92103. Plans can be order by visiting www.mayer.com
Each bid shall be accompanied by the security referred to in the contract documents, the non-collusion affidavit, the list of proposed subcontractors, and all additional documentation required by the Instructions to Bidders.
In public works contracts involving expenditures in excess of $25,000
, the successful bidder shall file a payment bond issued by an admitted Surety approved to conduct business in the State of California approved by the District in the form set forth in the contract documents.*
The District reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any irregularities or informalities in any bids or in the bidding.
"The lowest bid shall be the lowest total of the bid prices on the base contract and those additive or deductive items taken in the numerical order set forth in the bid form."
The Director of Industrial Relations has determined the general prevailing rate of per diem wages in the locality in which this work is to be performed for each craft or type of worker needed to execute the contract which will be awarded to the successful bidder, copies of which are on file and will be made available to any interested party upon request. It shall be mandatory upon the Contractor to whom the contract is awarded, and upon any subcontractor under him/her, to pay not less than the said specified rates to all workers employed by them in the execution of the contract.
In the event that your bid necessitates construction work, the bidder shall be a licensed contractor pursuant to the Business and Professions Code and shall be licensed in the following classification: B - General Contractor.
A bidder's walkthrough will be held on
June 9, 2008 at 2:00 PM in the Multi-Purpose Room located at 4612 Dehesa Road, El Cajon, CA for the purpose of acquainting all prospective bidders with the bid documents and respond to questions regarding the specifications and/or bid process. This will be the only opportunity for bidders to acquaint themselves with the site. No additional site visits will be conducted.

Printing and Distribution of Venture Schedules
This contract will be awarded for an initial one-year period for the Venture Schedules for four (4) publications (Venture Fall 2008, Venture Spring 2009, Venture College for Kids 2009, and Venture Summer 2009). The first set of the Venture Fall 2008 Schedules is to be delivered in early August 2008. This bid will be awarded in its entirety to a single vendor. The lowest bid will be based on a pre-established formula to calculate an overall average cost of the schedules based on the bid prices and rates for various printing options. The District shall have the option during the tenure of the agreement to annually extend it for four (4) full additional years within a maximum five percent (5%) increase in the prior year's pricing.
