NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the San Diego Community College District of San Diego County, California, acting by and through its Governing Board, hereinafter referred to as the DISTRICT, will receive up to, but not later than 2:00 p.m. of the 20 day of June 2012, sealed bids for the award of a contract for:

The following bid packages will be released:

Bid Package #24 - Site Fencing and Gates
Bid Package #29 - Additional Drywall per ASI #10

Bids shall be received in the office of the Owner in Suite 310 at the SAN DIEGO COMMUNITY COLLEGE DISTRICT, 3375 Camino del Rio, South, San Diego, California, 92108 and shall be opened and publicly read aloud at the above stated time and place.

Each bid must conform and be responsive to the contract documents. Plans, specs & addendas will be distributed electronically from Advance Reprographics, located at 2102 Hancock Street, San Diego, CA. Advance Reprographics can be contacted at 619-297-7734 or on their website at All printing costs will be the responsibility of the bidding contractor.

As a condition of bidding and in accordance with the provisions of Section 20651.5 of the California Public Code and Section 20101 of the California Local Agency Public Construction Act, the District is requiring prequalification of all contractors wishing to submit bids on the project in excess of $500,000. Bids will not be accepted if a contractor has not been prequalified with the District. This process can be initiated at the following link: Please have qualifications submitted no later than June 13, 2012 to allow for prequalification processing and notification.

Each bid shall be accompanied by the security referred to in the contract documents, the non-collusion affidavit, the list of proposed subcontractors, and all additional documentation required by the Information for Bidders.

In contracts involving expenditure in excess of $ 25,000.00, the successful bidder shall file a payment bond issued by an admitted Surety approved to conduct business in the State of California approved by the District in the form set forth in the contract documents.*

This project will have an Owner Covered Insurance Program (OCIP) and as such, all contractors shall need an Experience Modification Rate (EMR) less than, or equal to, one (1.00) averaged over the past five years OR three years.

The District reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any irregularities or informalities in any bids or in the bidding.

The lowest responsive bid will be determined solely on the lowest base contract bid. The lowest responsive bid will be based solely on the lowest base contract bid.

The Director of Industrial Relations has determined the general prevailing rate of per diem wages in the locality in which this work is to be performed for each craft or type of worker needed to execute the contract which will be awarded to the successful bidder, copies are at the following website:

It shall be mandatory upon the Contractor to whom the contract is awarded, and upon any subcontractor under him, to pay not less than the said specified rates to all workers employed by them in the execution of the contract.

Labor Compliance Program: The Trade Contractor and every subcontractor that is listed in the bid documents shall be required to comply with the District's Labor Compliance Program. See Document 00200, Article 6 for additional information.

Each bidder shall be licensed in the State of California pursuant to the Business and Professions Code for the scope of work in the Work Category the Bid Package being submitted.

No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of __Sixty _ (_60_) days after the date set for the opening of bids.
