OF THE POWAY UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT
RELATIVE TO THE ADOPTION OF A RESOLUTION TO ESTABLISH
ALTERNATIVE SCHOOL FACILITY FEES (ALTERNATIVE 2 AND 3)
PURSUANT TO GOVERNMENT CODE SECTIONS 69559.5 AND 69559.7 IN ACCORDANCE WITH INFORMATION MADE AVAILABLE TO THE PUBLIC IN THE FORM OF A SCHOOL
FACILITIES NEEDS ANALYSIS PREPARED IN ACCORDANCE WITH
SENATE BILL (“SB”) 50
Please be advised that the Board of Education (“Board”) of the Poway Unified School District at its regular meeting to be held on August 16, 2010, will adopt a resolution to establish alternative school facility fees in accordance with SB 50 and pursuant to Government Code Sections 69559.5 and 69559.7, and in accordance with information made available to the public in the form of a School Facilities Needs Analysis (“Analysis”) pursuant to Government Code Sections 69559.6. The Analysis is intended to determine the alternative school facility fees that may be collected from residential development in Poway Unified School District contingent upon whether or not State construction funds are available. The Analysis has determined that the District is eligible to impose an alternative fee above the Statutory fee of $2.97 set forth in Government Code Section 69559; an Alternative 2 fee in the amount of $3.93 per square foot when State construction funds are available, and an Alternative 3 fee of $7.85 per square foot when State construction funds are not available.
The Analysis is on file and available for public review for a period of 30 calendar days beginning July 16, 2010, at the local libraries within the District's boundaries and the District's Planning Department at the Twin Peaks Center located at 13626 Twin Peaks Road, Poway, California, and is herein incorporated by reference.
The Board meeting will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, August 16, 2010, or shortly thereafter, in the Community Room at the Poway Unified School District Office, located at 15250 Avenue of Science, San Diego, California. These matters will be considered at such time as this agenda item is considered by the Board of Education of the District.
